Any ORIS users out there? Looking for feedback.

Do you have already Oris (which one? Web or old version) or decided to get one? What do you have now? Do you want to compare Oris to what? What standard are you trying to match? what proofer(s) to drive?

Comparing to EFI ColorProof XF bundled with Epson Stylus 9900. PDF/softproofing interface is also a plus.

We've had Oris now for 4 years and it works great. Our proofs are consistant and the calibration isn't that difficult.

The EFI bundle with Epson is extreme overkill unless you absolutely need the 1-Bit Option. Otherwise, Fiery XF (98% identical to Colorproof XF) can be purchased (with Color manager and Color Verifier) for well under $5K. (without any discount). (The EFI part of the Epson bundle is around $4,500...I think.)

You will need at least a 1-2 day on-site installation and make sure you understand who will be supporting your system. My compnay does sell EFI and we do offer installs and support. I can also say with certainty that CGS is an excellent compnay with first-class support and service. Whatever you buy, just make sure you know what is going to happen after your purchase. many resellers who offer the EFI/Epson bundle will not offer much value to you. Some do, but you need to make sure.

We have over 40 installations of Oris Color Tuner, and are extremly happy with it.

Well, it is a personal preference. They are both good systems for a different reasons. Ask for a demo of both. After you see a demo of setup and usage pick which one you like better and ask for a demo install and 30 days dongle. Test it yourself just as you would test drive a new car....
