Production Scheduler
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Department Head, the Production Scheduler is responsible for utilizing PrintFlow MIS scheduling software to create efficient, achievable and cost effective production schedules for all areas of production with the goal of meeting or exceeding customer delivery expectations. The Production Scheduler interacts with Planning, Client Services, Sales, Purchasing and Manufacturing to gather information necessary to maintain an accurate schedule and updates the PrintFlow scheduling software accordingly. The Production Scheduler is responsible for clearly communicating information for smooth execution of the schedule, while communicating scheduling requirements or potential conflicts in a professional and proactive manner.

Position Responsibilities:
• Coordinates all information required to create and distribute daily production schedules that maximize efficiencies while meeting client delivery requirements
• Scheduling is maintained using PrintFlow software as integrated with the company’s MIS
• Audits job tickets received from Planners and sends to PrintFlow to schedule
• Work with Planners to resolve any issues with job set up or questions regarding production processes
• Applies knowledge of production standards and print operations to verify job plans as part of the audit process
• Coordinates projected proof approval dates with Client Services and maintains dates in PrintFlow
• Conducts daily maintenance of Data Collection from Shop Floor and resolves data collection issues with appropriate department manager/supervisor
• Conducts daily upkeep of critical dates including stock delivery, outside vendor out / return dates and receipt of job related supplies
• Communicates projected ready dates for outside vendors to Purchaser
• Preschedules jobs as required
• Schedules and communicates customer and sales approvals
• Responds to changing customer requirements and production capabilities and adjusts schedule to accommodate
• Provides clear communication to department managers and supervisors regarding schedule objectives
• Monitors client delivery dates and resolves conflicts with Client Services and/or Production and elevates unresolved issues to the Manager of Planning & Scheduling in a timely manner
• Monitors plant loading and communicates potential bottlenecks or excessive open capacity to manager
• May conduct daily production meetings
• Works with Sales, Client Services, and Manufacturing management to achieve company goals including customer satisfaction and company profitability
• Observes established safe working and housekeeping procedures; promptly corrects hazardous situations
• Follows all standard operating procedures, work instructions, and ISO requirements
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
Position Qualifications:
Experience, Licenses, Certifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent training and work experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in scheduling, production control, planning, or manufacturing within a printing environment
• Must be familiar with production departments within a printing company
• Experience with scheduling MIS software such as PrintFlow and Monarch is desired
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
• Proficient using the internet, Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and management information systems (MIS)
• Proficient in the use of office equipment: computer, 10- key adding machine, printers, copiers, facsimile machine, and telephone system
• Demonstrated ability to schedule all areas of production to assure continuous, uninterrupted production of project elements
• Demonstrated ability to interact with sales, customer service, planning, purchasing, and manufacturing staff as necessary to obtain and circulate required information
• Ability to be flexible when faced with frequent operational changes
• Solid working knowledge in understanding of manufacturing resource planning
• Extreme attention to detail
