Prosetter error

High all!

A couple of days ago,the prosseter came up with an ''Error 248:There is no plate at the grip.Loading material isn't possible''

That happened after i loaded a plate, the setter sucked it,and instead of proceeding the job it produced the error message.

After that it happened again twice-once each day-and for the last two days the setter works just fine!

Has anyone had the same problem, and what did he did with that?

The service told us that they can send a technician and stay as long as it takes for the error to come up again!!!

Any suggestion would be much appreciated!
Thanx in advance,

Antonis.

never had that issue. but I have had wrong size plate errors. or it just sits there waiting for a plate even though you put one in. its a timing thing. if you change plates too quickly but it sounds like a sensor error in your case. i am guessing there is a sensor out of adjustment on the transport bar.

That's what the service suggested, hope they can deal with that soon and inexpencive cause the owners here freak out whenever the technicians and their bills pay us a visit!

I had that very same issue, we had to have the transport/gripper bar and a sensor replaced if I remember correctly. It started kind-of hit or miss, and then became pretty regular. Go ahead and tell them to fix it. It didn't take Heidleberg very long, and it was covered under the service contract.
Good luck.

I had this problem 3 times - every year.
We had to replace gripper motor unit.
Maybe in your case you need just to replace optoswitch.

The tech came yesterday.
He was running updates on the setters GUI for over five hours-still haven't reached the latest!-
Today i worked allright apart from the fact that the setter has become a little slower on requesting a plate after i'm sending the job for exposure and the gripper is kind of noisier aligning and proceeding the plate into the drum!
Anyway hope that the updates will do the job, cause if they don't he mentioned something like 50000euros (65K) for changing the motordrive!

What's the optoswitch?
