I'm looking for some info on creating a Report. The function seems to be buried deep within the Smartmarks feature and there is little documentation on the process. We're still using Suite 7 and I'm not even sure we have the module. I found a posting about the "PrintCard" template which looked really cool. Are these templates pre-made by Esko? Can you customize them? Are they free? How do I get one? Any help would be appreciated.
 
First of all, look for this license feature - flreportmak. If you have it feature in your license you have the ticket in AE (in your case in BackStage 7) called Create Report (ReportMaker) - it's the name from AE 12, may be in BackStage 7 it can be called something different. For doing Report, you need to make template in PackEdge. Check the online documentation Reference Guide, in the left side you'll see topics. You need to open topic The Tasks: an OverView and find the description for Ticket - Create Report (ReportMaker) and in this description you'll all info that you'll need to make custom reports by yourself in PackEdge. Hope this helps
 
Thanks for the info guys. We do have the module so I am giving it a go. I was hoping for a ReporMaker for Dummies. I find Esko's step by step instructions to be confusing. It always seems they've started in the middle of the process. Ready fire aim!

It's quite simple. All you need is PackEdge connected to BackStage 7. This connection gives you the Smart Mark called taskinputfile, you place it and you have the template for ReportMaker. All other info you can place through Smart Marks.
