Safira Thermoplate PN101 (Agfa Energy Elite Pro) issues

We were using Safira Thermoplate PN very happily until Heidelberg switched plates on us rather suddenly to Thermoplate PN 101, saying that Thermoplate PNs were no longer available. Unfortunately, this was a setback for us: images deteriorate within 20k impressions (though most notably on uncoated stock), and if gummed at the end of a shift to run up again the next morning, will occasionally not come back to life. Also, hitting with Safira plate cleaner will sometimes wipe screened areas off.

We're looking into alternatives - I noticed that Agfa still offers the Energy Elite, and lots of folks love Fuji plates. Heidelberg is in contact and we're trying to follow their suggestions, but a difference this drastic might require bailing on this plate.

Has anybody experienced this changeover and the associated problems?
