Slow file transfer to copier

I have a lot of issues printing large pdfs to our C650 Bizhub printer (with a fiery rip). This time it is a 160 pg 4c 8.5x11 book. We just needed to print off the book for proofing purposes. It will spool and timeout after a long time, not showing up in the copier display panel. We could send 10pg at a time, usually taking around 15-20min to print. The client computers are on OSX 10.4 and 10.5, and are connected via appletalk.

Any ideas on what we can do to speedup the print time??

What file format are you sending over, what file size is it on the local computer, and at what resolution? Maybe the files you are sending are too big for the RIP to handle at once, not enough disk space? Or maybe your RIP has become fragmented...within the Fiery you should be able to do a "clear server" function which will delete all jobs, temp data, et cetera...then a reboot and you should have space.
