Sounds like a newbee problem I'm having with overprint...

I thought overprint issues had long ago disappeared until today. I have a solid 5th color printing over 4/c images & graphics coming out of ID 5.5 . If I generate the 5th color as a vector on another layer (overprint set of course) the 4/c layers all get heavier (dot percentage wise), both images and graphics. Now I stick an image in there and make it the 5th channel all is well. What the he__?

Has anyone come across this before? I would think the image would give issues before an ID generated rectangle could. This one has me a little puzzled and frustrated.

I'm using Apogee x print driver if that makes a difference.

Make sure you don't have multiply AND overprint enabled (like Zoran says just use overprint and not multiply in this case). I've seen very strange things happen when both are enabled. Perhaps you can provide a file for us to review?

This is correct...something is set for both...whether a group, a single object of a group, etc., it can get tricky finding the little buggers sometimes.
