Stupid InDesign Question

Must be having a DDD moment, could use a little help.

Copying and pasting text from Word into an InDesign text box. Whenever I try to do a hard or soft return the text below the return disappears. I get the little red x on the text frame but when I expand it the text is no ware to be found, no matter how much I expand the text box. What am I doing wrong???

Do a "select all" and check your paragraph settings. I had a problem copying text from word one time and found out that it had a left indent setting of 10 inches which caused the text to dissappear.
