He'll be sorry if he ever gets a real job. Nothing like hands-on experience in this business. He's lucky to even get an internship. I had to dive in and learn by doing.

I think that many printshops still have some kind of internship for young people that are thinking of entering the business. It's also often a part of a formal graphic arts education. I.e. spend a few weeks in a printshop then write a paper based on the experience.
