Position Summary:
The VP, Operations – Sign Language XL, Denver, CO. The VP, Operations’ primary responsibility is to manage the execution and delivery of the production and quality control process, target P&L opportunities and execute profit and process improvement plans. The VP, Operations ensures that the team is meeting and exceeding customer service standards for contract and commercial customers. VP, Operations will report directly to the CEO.


Primary Responsibilities:


Overall:
Responsible for managing Operations including; Production, Client Services, Installation Department and Art Department.
Customer Service and Sales:
 Partner with CEO and sales team to identify opportunities, develop solutions and implement programs to improve margin performance.
 Serve as product & service expert to sales team using knowledge of the industry, leadership experience, and tools and resources available.
 Observe and coach operations team on their execution of production center workflow & quality assurance process.
 Implement plans to ensure all orders are done right the first time while exceeding customer expectations.
 Measure and report on done right/on time performance to develop and implement process improvement plans.
 Model the production center workflow & quality assurance process, through involvement in the production process and follow-up on execution by the operations team.
 Partner with the sales team on QA tours with high level customer contacts.
 Responsible to work with the sales team and Client Services Department on problem resolution to maintain highest levels of customer satisfaction.
 Review team responsibilities to ensure they are being done on time and to standard including quarterly reviews of employees


Operations:
 Walk the production center floor and audit workflow compliance. Report and correct findings
 Participate in the sales process by attending sales calls as requested.
 Evaluate and provide feedback on the customer satisfaction follow-up calls and make calls to high volume or challenging customers
 Communicate with external vendors and/or delegate to ensure training is occurring and orders are done right the first time
 Produce and finish orders on time while maximizing the machines productivity
 Properly use and care for all equipment in compliance with operating instructions; ensure machine and equipment maintenance is occurring in a timely manner to maximize efficiencies
 Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed 100% of the time
 Ensure the production center is clean and organized, and safety precautions are followed
 Ensure that all required processes and procedures are being executed on time
 Review with the CEO and Controller all reporting to evaluate if the facility is maximizing efficiencies
 Ensure effective scheduling of labor and payroll to achieve budget.
 As industry expert recommend new equipment, technology, digital ordering and modern workflows.
Financial Management:
 Work with Sales, Marketing and Client Services to develop and implement sales/margin and customer service related programs and/or initiatives.
 Analyze and use production center P&L, scorecard, and trend reports to grow and maximize sales and margin.
 Meet with the CEO to set plan to improve P&L surrounding operations.
 Facilitate discussions with the sales and operations teams to increase their knowledge and understanding of production center performance, including the P&L.
Human Resources:
 Continually assess and develop team. Address performance issues on an ongoing basis
 Set and maintain the highest standards regarding operational execution. Address issues and take corrective action promptly with a focus on standard operating procedures.
 Work with Facilities Manager to ensure OSHA compliance
 Partner with the Marketing Director to assess, increase and improve company culture
 Facilitate any required training curriculum
Basic:
 6-10 years experience in a manufacturing environment. Digital print experience preferred
 Experience in multiple silos within the print industry, i.e. POP/V&E/OOH
Preferred:
 History of growing and managing mid to large size companies
 Ability to analyze operational P&L
 Ability to coach, train and motivate the right behaviors and skills
 Ability to identify obstacles and execute plans to overcome them
 Ability to maintain positive and productive cross functional working relationships
 Ability to work & present at multiple levels of a customers organization
 Strong problem solving and project management skills
 Strong analytical and organizational skills
 Management skills to hire, develop, manage and support the operations team
 Demonstrated ability to coach and develop a team including implementing projects and/or programs to increase performance levels
 Leadership skills to develop a service & quality culture within production
 Ability to motivate and manage a staff to drive sales and margin performance
 Ability to analyze the P&L and identify opportunities to drive profitability
 Ability to communicate sensitive information in a professional and constructive manner
 Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
 Ability to multi-task
 Ability to use and understand industry equipment and demonstrate how to use
 Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Acrobat, Picture It, Publisher
 Ability to use technology including industry specific software, workflow management and online ordering systems.
 Understanding of Venue, Events, Out of Home and Retail markets.
