• Best Wishes to all for a Wonderful, Joyous & Beautiful Holiday Season, and a Joyful New Year!

What's everybody using for comb and spiral punching? We have a 1 year old Digipunch from Spiel that is horrible, need to replace it.

Hello!
Our Digipunch has been a POS since the start (1 year, less than a 800k sheets punched) and I'm going to scrap it. Thousands in repairs and thousands in lost time. Just replaced a main bearing that shattered. Replaced feed belts 3 times... and the new ones are getting chewed up. And now the display died. The Sterling Digipunch by Spiel Associates is the worst piece of equipment I have used in the past 35 years. DO NOT BUY ONE.
I have an old GBC AP2 that we had to use as a backup (and just bought 2 used ones to add to it).

What are you using for high volume punching?

Two original GBC Magnapunch 1’s, a full collection of diesets and a very fast, accurate, experienced operator. We had an AP2 Ultra years ago which was nothing but problematic on digital.

I wish we had gone with the Docupunch or Rhino. I would NEVER buy ANYTHING from Sterling (Spiel associates) Worst print equipment with no support. I picked up 2 more GBC AP2's for cheap and are using those until I find a better replacement (and my budget after scrapping the Digipunch).

I have an old Digipunch.. Maybe 10 yrs old, (I forget) Works great. Changed the main drive belt 2 or 3 times.. Lube it once in a while. Replaced one jog solenoid. So you have a new model.. apparently.
Good to know.

If you're anywhere near the greater Chicago area, I'd consider taking it off your hands.

Ya, our Digipunch is now gathering dust. They might have been a good company a decade ago, but their quality and service has gone down the crapper.
