CS4 should--for CS5 you will need Mac OS X v10.5.7 or v10.6.3

Is there a reason you are not updating beyond 10.4? Some really big improvements have happened since then, especially pre Lion.

I just updated to 10.6.8 I see what you mean by improvements.

Snow Leopard was the biggest improvement to OS X, then Lion and Mountain Lion went a different path it seems. They are good, but there are things from Snow Leopard that are missing in Mountain Lion that were really good and functional.
