Hi there,
I have a Xerox 700i printer with an external Fiery controller. It's quite slow for the heavier and heavier pdfs that it's asked to rip.
I thought I'd done my homework when identifying the motherboard and through numerous lookups and google searches concluded that the motherboard would accept 4x2GB DDR2 ram in stead of the 2x512MB DDR2 ram it has now. And yes, the motherboard gladly accepts 8GB of ram, but when I open Fiery.exe i receive an error message. By pressing ignore to this message I'm able to enter Command Work Center and setup a job, but once I send it to processing Fiery.exe apparently crashes and CWC looses the connection to the 700i.
Surely there is a way to hack this small issue - some config file somewhere that says Fiery can only run with 1GB of ram or something like that?
I'm looking forward to hearing all about your plausible solutions.
Best,
Troels
