Likely to get even deeper with Creative Cloud. Upgrade your computer. Upgrade your plug-ins. Upgrade your workflow. Another Cloud update? Whoops, here we go again.

Adobe will have to come up with a different licensing solution as well. I know a few designers who are already looking back at Quark and Corel as a substitute and very rightfully so.

Yeah, I give that about 2-3 months be fore they realize how how horrible those apps have become. Only time will tell, of course.

@Magpie There is still option to stick with perpetual licences and CS6. The cloud is for those that want to keep updated. As far as print workflows they will probably be PDFx4 for some time forward, and if there be new formats, then there will be option to backward compatible. (PDFx1a is still possible ;) )

2014-08: Unfortunately, I just got the first Illustrator file I couldn't open in CS 6, so assuming it wasn't a corrupt file, the writing is on the wall for all pre-CC Adobe apps.

Hope your company is compensating you for the CC subscription and travel time, at the very least. If not, you've got some tax deductions coming.

I have to admit, I don't understand why Adobe released CC 2014. I thought it was just going to be 1 CC version and they would keep updating/improving/patching that one version from here on. The fact that they called this latest one "CC 2014" suggests there will be a 2015, 2016, etc. Grrrrr.
