Hello,

i've got a question and hope someone of you can answer me this. Sorry for this english, it's Google-Translator ;)

We use the Kodak Prinergy EVO workflow about many years and now we are possibly before change to Prinergy Connect (due to the upgrade policy of Kodak for customers without maintenance contract).

Anyone of you have had Prinergy Evo before Prinergy Connect ? Is the change easily or you need more time per job afterwards? If you can tell me your opinions I would be very happy!

Thank you!

Frank

Hi Frank,
Basic difference is that Connect is job based i.e. you have a database where your jobs with all the input files, pages, impos, etc. are stored.
As far as I know - after PGY 6 there is no more EVO version. Don't think the transiotion will be a big thing.
Hope I helped

Hi Yoan,

thank you for your posting. where did you get the information after the pgy6 no further evo version to get more? is the official information? if so, where can you read this?

the main problem is (at least conceptually) that we connect with pg each time manually have to create a job. that means a time longer working after today's way of working with pg evo. can you create a job in pg connect via xml and tell it at the same time, where the associated files are?

thank you for answer.

I don't know if anyone can help. I have 2 customers who consolidated. One was on Evo the other on. Connect. The customer who was on Evo was a gang printer. Laying everything out on a sheet and running his job through evo. Easy peasy. The other customer setting up the job and doing 6 different steps to get the job out on a single one up. As I see it. I don't see a way in connect to actually do a gang run on one sheet without having to set up each individual file then placing it. Am I overlooking something. Evo is easy. But switching to connect may have its challenges.

Hi, here the transition to Prinergy Connect is soon into the house and I have exactly this apprehension that it is behind expensive as before ... Unfortunately Prinergy EVO is End of Life, so you will probably have to live with it, or known anyone alternatives?
