How cheap are Riso inkjet printers to run?

Having a GD7335 there is no way in hell it's going to be .001 per. More like .01 without a maintenance contract. Don't even think of using non OEM ink, the colors are no where close. The black is about a 85% gray.
Sounds more expensive than my konica minolta color production printer. It did sound too good to be true to begin with. I just never heard of it before.

So salesman said commcolor is more expensive than laser for bw but duplicators are much cheaper $0.001. The bw text quality is excellent.

The blacks on the text samples I had were not good (GD9630), although if the ink usage was on a higher quality setting it looked better, but then the ink consumption increases.

Duplicators are extremely cheap to run but are useless for your application.

not mentioned here and fwiw, there's a huge scene/movement of artists using the cheap duplicators, usually second hand, it's become quite the trend. I think it's overrated and a bit of a fad but there are people doing really cool work with it. Taking advantage of the cheapness, uncoated stock, neon spot colors, not caring about registration etc. Risolve Studio | Risograph Printing and Riso Print Design is just one example.
