Best Printer for $150k or less

I'd recommend the Xerox 770, and then run 17x11 if at all possible (to cut clicks and run in half - save money and time).

    Xerox 770

If you set your trays up properly, pretty good. If you wing it (as we are doing on most stocks), then it is typically off around 1/8". We just need to get around to setting up our specific stocks, and they will all fall within a 1/32" or so I'd imagine.

    Xerox 770

Yes. I've been told it comes installed on the 770.

    Xerox 770

Black only. We did have some issues with quality, but it cleared up after 50 sheets.

    Xerox 770

The 770 comes with the advanced color suite, which gives great control IMO. I'm not familiar with the 700, but the 770 offers several line screens, and also has some other color control options that are fairly user friendly, but pretty robust as well.

    Xerox 770

We've been running our 770 since around Thanksgiving. So far, it is performing as advertised. We had some feed issues initially, but they finally got a workaround (fix) for it. We are pushing it fairly hard, as we already have 150000+ impressions (so I'm told by our tech). We run mostly...

    Help, HP Indigo 5000 problems

That hose is no fun to unclog. I'd still lean towards the inks being out of calibration. If the tech is coming, make sure he is bringing their fancy new ink calibration tool. Our tech said only a few have them, but they are awesome.

    Help, HP Indigo 5000 problems

We had the same issue on our 3050. Rebuilding the inks had always fixed it in the past. We had a tech come in when that didn't work. He recalibrated the inks (as mentioned earlier). The calibrations had become corrupt over time. Once the calibration was done and inks rebuilt again, all was...

    Xerox 700i monthly volume

How is the uptime on the 700s? We are looking at a 770, and are curious how reliable they are.

    Xerox 770 Experiences

We were told the 700 has a "sweet spot" cycle at 50-150k, and a max duty of 450k. Right now we would have a volume of around 75-100k, so we'd have a little head room for growth. kdonegan - how did your pricing look? PM me if you don't mind.

    auto duplex or not?

We are looking at getting the 770. I just demoed a 700 (not i) this week and duplexed everything. I saw around 1/2mm to 1mm variance on the backup. Not enough to cause any issues as the files were built properly.

    Xerox 770 Experiences

Anyone using a 770 yet? We are in the process of evaluating one and was curious if anyone had gotten an install completed. We currently run an Indigo 3050, and are mostly looking to update to JDF and lower our click cost/operating costs. If anyone has one currently, I'd love to chat with you...

    Workflow vs Kodak

I started out using brisque for a couple years before we switched to Prinergy. Our prepress dept has gone from eight full time people to three now (and I handle 90% of the jobs). Prinergy allows us to do that because it rips with speed, accuracy, and is very reliable.

    lotem 800v punch error

You likely need a new punch motor. That is a part that fails frequently on our Lotem.

    Xerox 1000 Install...

There is also a Creo workflow for the 800/1000 series. Thanks to the OP for posting - good to know the kind of trials and tribulations to expect when installing something this new.
