Why does my PDF get the error: "Form has no blending color space" ?

Are those "non-separable" blends, Hue, Staturation, Luminosity and Color? Again thanks to all for this plethora of information.

Why does my PDF get the error: "Form has no blending color space" ?

Thanks for all the responses. This is helping me better understand what is happening. The Illustrator file was made in CMYK colorspace with Illusrtator CS5's default color settings. The areas in question are a rounded corner rectangles that are clipped. I used the path finder tools to remove...

Why does my PDF get the error: "Form has no blending color space" ?

I make a lot of stuff in Illustrator CS5 (from scratch) in CMYK. However in many cases when I run them through PitStop Pro 10's Preflight tool, I get parts of my image flagged as "Form has no blending space." Yes there are live transparencies in the PDF. This does not happen to all my documents...

Looking for "Onyx Profile Workflow" Series

PrePress, Glad to hear you have great taste in British literature. I think we need a Douglas Adams Day. It should be on the 42nd day of the year. Color Management, by Fraser is indeed a good book. That was my first book I used to learn about color. If you want to get more in-depth on color...

Looking for "Onyx Profile Workflow" Series

The profiling guide is the manual they talked about. Last I heard Onyx support doesn't get any feedback for end users on what's good or bad about. It might be a good idea to send them what specifics you dislike or found confusing. I know they'll appreciate that.

    UV bandings

AFFCup, Sorry I did not reply sooner. I have been rather busy. Looks like the others have already said what I would suggest, using Unidirectional printing. This will eliminate this problem in most cases.

    Z6100 profile problem

Make sure when you make a profile in ONYX to always click on the Media options button and then when in the Mode settings step, to click on the Mode Options button. Those need to be set, otherwise the printer will reject the job. ONYX's driver helps by preventing you from proceeding if the...

Z6100 + Onyx -- Prints Always Come Out Short

There is an problem with 3rd party medias and that printer. It's what VladCanada said. That the printer will control the feed adjustment based on what media you are telling the printer it has. As a result media may slip or spit out too fast. This was verified without the Onyx Rip.

    Roland VP540 inks

I would recommend the manufacturer inks. Rolands inks for that printer work perfectly (of course). The odor is minute and you will not get the clogging. I'm never a fan of 3rd party inks. They tend to cause more problems and cost more in maintenance than if you stick with the OEM inks.

    ONYX 7.2 drop out

Stainless, Make sure you installed the driver from their website .Net Home. Make sure you reconfigure the printer, in Configure Printer, if it fails to print. Verify none of your other network cards have videonet protocol on. And make sure the card your Colorspan is connected to...
