Black toner all over prints…is it bad developer?

I can't really tell by the paper, but is it a textured stock?

    Young shop expanding services

I just imagine having a 40 page document that needs to be designed by 5pm and having a rush order on some super staticy paper that needs to ship out on the same day

    Young shop expanding services

I don't think it would be a bad idea to hire a graphic designer who just finished school or is about to finish up school and train them for a year or so on the presses so they can get a real idea of the printing process. Depending on their work load though, and as you expand, it could easily...

    Young shop expanding services

As a press operator, I would expect to be paid very well to create designs as well. I edit files that are sent to me from customers to tweak anything they have missed, and I am well taken care of by my company. I think you are asking too much of an operator to handle graphic designing, and...

    Envelope printer

The 910 is overall a great machine just not for envelopes. I have rarely ran envelopes on it. I had a c850(generation before 910) that I would run envelopes on, but I would not recommend that machine to run large amounts of envelopes. You really have to play with the media settings, and even...

    Envelope printer

I've had an Enpress since december of 2019. It runs #9 and #10 envelopes really fast. After about a year though the feeder tray started acting funny, I can't explain it but you have to kind of teeter with the envelopes to get it to feed flawlessly. Announcement sized envelopes run really...

Canon V1000 - Anyone have one? How is it going?

I had same problem on my 910. I think they had to clean some lasers inside the fuser

Laminating Digital Prints - What sticks?

Assuming you are printing on an image press, you can try to jack up the fuser temp by lying to machine and telling it the stock is 351 gsm. Turn side fan levels all the way up to prevent jamming. If the stock is heavier than 65# cover, I would be happy to run a few test sheets for you on my UV...

Rough Edge aka "Faux Deckle" edges

I thought the only reason why deckle edges exist is because years ago a project was going horribly wrong. When the overdue job finally made it to the cutter for finishing it had an insanely dull blade with a new operator whos supervisor was on vacation. And somehow the salesman was able to sell...

    Canon 810 vs 850

I would highly recommend going with a v900 if you are able to. It is insanely fast even compared to the 910. Inline calibration works excellent on it, and Canon has fixed its registration problem with the sensing unit as well

    Canon 810 vs 850

LOL maybe thats why my 850 stopped running cover weights after a few years... I was told by the salesman it was rated to do 350 but you could lie to it and get away with up to 400 gsm I have a couple of Ricoh production machines (5310s) as well that have a Fiery, and I just find the Prisma to...

    Canon 810 vs 850

Overall I love these machines. I know some people on here hate their image presses, but the quality of the prints can't be beat by a Ricoh or Konica. I would just recommend getting some good training because these machines have a ton of settings to mess around with rather that be in the file...

    Canon 810 vs 850

I have a 910 and recently got rid of 850 for a v900(7 million clicks 95% 11x17+) - 810 has side fans on the large capacity trays, you can change strength of fans in the media settings (I recently upgraded my 850 to v900, ever since covid a lot of the coated stocks had too much static. ended up...

What Kind of Folder Would You Recommend?

Hey everyone, the company I work for is looking for ways to expand our newsletter mailings. We typically do booklets that end up being flat rates, and we are trying to save our customers money by folding a one signature (with possibly an 8.5x11 insert) 11x17 to 8.5x11, and then folded again to...
