I run the synaps XM on my Ricoh 7210x, i don't use the "synthetic" setting. I run it with the same settings as glossy cover. It works great.

Letting it sit works, however that isn't usually possible. I use an ionizing static gun. It connects to an air compressor and does a great job, sometimes i have to spray the material a few times, but spending 1 minute doing this is a lot easier than fighting the static.
