    More Ryobi 3302 feed issues.

Hi. Hope I'm not speaking out of turn as I've never run a Ryobi. I assume it doesn't have a stream feeder as I normally use. Is this any help? Stahl folder slow on start up

Hi, I have a Stahl K56 folder K56/4kTL 4B2. It is very slow on start up but is ok after it 'warms up'. The operator switches it on and starts running it 30 minutes before use until it gets to speed. If it is left to stand a couple of hours, same again. It squeals at first which suggests a drive...

Duct keys with a mind of their own on a Heidelberg Speedmaster

OK guys, Now I've brought your responses to my printer and questioning him more closely I reckon there are two unrelated issues here, and the problem is not as I described. One is that when setting the keys some keys open up so far and no further. This sounds like those keys are gunged up with...

Duct keys with a mind of their own on a Heidelberg Speedmaster

Hi Francois, They open or close to a random position, which can happen anytime during a production run. A couple of weeks can go by without a problem. I suspect it is likely to be a board as all the ducts are affected. I have 2 presses of a similar type and age so maybe I could swap a board...

What a really interesting idea! And easy to remedy. I'll give that a try. Thanks.

Duct keys with a mind of their own on a Heidelberg Speedmaster

Thanks. Heidelberg don't have electricians on the books, they just subcontract to local approved sparkys. Ours just says 'It's a needle in a haystack'. Is there a Heidelberg helpdesk or similar? Thanks again for all your interest, Peter

Duct keys with a mind of their own on a Heidelberg Speedmaster

Hi, Thanks for the response. I think the press predates the use of software, but I could be wrong. Again many thanks for taking the trouble to help. Peter

Duct keys with a mind of their own on a Heidelberg Speedmaster

Hi, I have a 20 or so year old Heidelberg 72 and recently the keys randomly open up or shut down on the run. This happens on all units , though it seems to happen more often on some keys than others. It doesn't happen all the time, or to all at once. A couple of weeks can pass with no probs...

    Ink Buildup on Plate

Piling Piling It's not piling, is it? Pigment staying behind on plate and not transferring with the vehicle. The sort of thing we get on sheetfed, esp on blankets on long runs when the press gets hot.

    Stahl folder inconsistent folding

Al You mentioned checking the paper stop to the witness marks. I believe that both the top and bottom plates I am using are not level to the witness marks scribed on the plate. Do you know how to square them up on a Stahl? I can probably work it out but any guidance would be helpful. Thanks, Peter

    Stahl folder inconsistent folding

Hi John, The great majority of jobs we fold are cross-grain. Maybe 8 or 9 out of 10 jobs. The weights are usually 130gsm or 170 gsm. Thanks, Peter

    Stahl folder inconsistent folding

Hi John, Yes I have watched 100 sheets going in and all pull over well as far as I can see. All the paper is of good quality, though I hear from one of the lads that that the more ink on a sheet the more probs. I am sorry I haven't tries a larger sheet yet as you suggested, but as that will go...

    Stahl folder inconsistent folding

Hi Al, Yes the knobs you show on pic 6 are for setting the throat, so yes I know those. Your point 3 refers to spacer washers. That I am not clear about. Thanks for all the trouble you are going to on my behalf. Peter
