    Xerox DC7002 Color Issues

How did it go? I've been following your story as the shop I work with is on the verge of buying a 7002. I looks like barring image quality the Canon 7000VP Might be a better choice, based on reliability.

What he said ^^^ Try to talk to the Xerox people to arrange for a trial period of the machine. In most cases they will agree to it. They will place the machine in your shop for a month. You have to pay for toner and supplies, but you get to test it day in- day out.

    Xerox 7002 pricing revealed.

Well, the first thing you have to do, is request a Customers Expectations Document from your sales reps. The CED outlines pretty much all the details / limitations of the machine. You *HAVE* to read this before buying any digital press. The 700 is more advanced than the 252/262. The 700 is...

One Thing i forgot to add. The C6000 is an air feed machine, as oposed to friction fed. That is all kinds of awesome.

    Xerox 7002 pricing revealed.

Disclaimer: I always refer to LARGE clicks. We went for the canon for a couple of reasons. Currently we own a X240 (halfway into a 5 year lease). With this machine we grew our volume from 10.000 per month on a DC12 (Yes... loooong nights printing at 4 ppm) to about 40K per month. At this point...

    Xerox 7002 pricing revealed.

Well, I'm basically ready to sign, the xerox rep did try to throw some dirt on the canon yesterday; he mentioned that "the web" (I'm assuming he's referring to a cleaning web?) wears out very fast in the ImagePress machines and that it's a tech-only replaceable item. He also mentioned that the...

    Xerox 7002 pricing revealed.

Sorry if my message was confusing, 75K (Large clicks) monthly is my target volume for the *new* machine. I'm keeping my X240, so the monthly volume will be spread out on both machines. My first milestone, hopefully before 3 years will be to arrive to 100K large cliks/ month. Then I'll consider...

    Xerox 7002 pricing revealed.

Hi all, We're very close to buying a Canon 6000 over here (Instead of a X700). The Xerox people panicked and came out with an offer today on the brand spanking new X7002. 66 Month Lease Machine (No extras): $ 1019.99 EX8002LG EFI Server: $1277.19 Color: .0486 B&W: .0144 It's very...

    Grain direction on digital presses

We have a DC240, and grain direction affects registration on the heavier stock. By running grain short (grain runs across paper path) we achieve the best consistency.

    Xerox 700 vs. Canon C6000

Ok, perhaps duty cycle is the wrong choice of words. "Recommended Average Monthly Volume" We have a x240 and smacked into this limit when our volume started growing, so we see the techs every other week. We had two issues with the 5000. One is that it doesn't run 13 x 19. This is a critical...

    Xerox 700 vs. Canon C6000

I was refering to the Xerox on my post. I still haven't tried to laminate the Canon samples; but the sales team swears it will laminate without problems.(I take any sales promises with a large grain of salt)

    Xerox 700 vs. Canon C6000

Smatros, The lease on the C6000 is about 25% more than the xerox, but on the overall scheme of things, that represents about $500 a month, which we can certainly make up in one or two jobs. We looked a the toner issue, and it's not oil. It's wax. We tested some lamination on it, and the results...

    Xerox 700 vs. Canon C6000

More robust in the following: Duplexes heavier stocks than the Xerox can, Duplexes coated stocks faster than Xerox (We'll mostly be running 12 x 18 100# gloss) Has a duty cycle about double the X700 Uses air feed instead of friction feed. (Comming from the printing world, Air > Friction) Has...

    Xerox 700 vs. Canon C6000

Over the last two weeks I've printed my samples on a x700, c6000 and km 6501. Yes, Xerox has the best print quality, but the difference is not huge. I think that for 90% of customers, the other two machines are good enough. I also think that the c6000 and the km are more versatile than xerox...

    Xerox 700 vs. Canon C6000

My xerox quote does include the interface module, and internal fiery. They're very tricky by the way.... The interface module is a "mandatory option" if you're planning on using the bookletmaker. Quote comes straight from Xerox. Ridety, does yours have the bookletmaker as well?
