Prepress Seminars/Conventions/Expos: What's worth my time?

User group conventions for software or workflows you use (Like Esko World, EFI Connect etc) would be a good place to start. They are not specifically a place to LEARN the apps, but you have access to a large number of technical resources. Most have seminars etc that delve into specific uses of...

Need help for Banner Printing! fuji Xerox DC V 5575

You said 12.5X27" (with a ") so I'm assuming inches? The website says its only capable of 12X18".... Also, this isn't exactly a production machine. Its a multifunction device for an office. It says its capable of 50ppm color, which probably means 50 8.5x11 sheets a minute. A larger sheet will...

Strange, we have 2 digimasters which were sold to us and are serviced by Ricoh. My tech told me they hate moving them though.

Replaced KM C8000 with Xerox C1000 Clear Toner

To save starting another thread, I'm just going to chime in here. I'm a little new to the digital printing world. Ive been at the company I'm with now since August and came from the folding carton/packaging world. My question is this: we have an aging iGen 3. We've been in talks with Xerox...

Viewing booth/desk for iGen or similar digital press

I'm looking for any info someone can give me on some sort of desk/booth like in this picture I found on google. Basically looking for some sort of color viewing booth/desk that will take 3 monitors (2 for our iGen and 1 workstation computer monitor), have some desk space to view jobs etc...

    License Infringement Letter

Wow, I can't believe this! Patent trolls are the worst. I think this argument would be hard to hold up in court, but I'm no lawyer. I would also venture to say, if this were a real legal issue, it would be up to the vendors (workflow screening and platesetter vendors) to actually pay licensing...

    i1 Profiler

I can't get the D2 Lion edition to recognize the i1Pro. I emailed Xrite who said the program does not support that device. Were you able to get it to work?

    i1 Profiler

Yes, thats how I use it. Be warned though, if you have bought a new computer recently, it won't work on Lion or above. Xrite/Pantone is pushing their new software.

    PANTONE Certified Printer Program?

I'd like to add a little icing on the cake here. I'm working on getting all of our monitors calibrated. I normally have used the software that comes with the i1 Pros. One of my newer computers in the department is running OSX 10.7 (lion). Lo and behold, the software is not compatible with Lion...

    PANTONE Certified Printer Program?

Well, Pantone must have made a convincing argument to our marketing team, because this certification is being forced upon us. Reading the documentation, it really just seems like a money grab for them to push their Pantone brand. I mean, most of the spot colors we print are based on Pantone...

    PANTONE Certified Printer Program?

It looks like some time since anyone posted about this. Since a year has gone by, has anyone else persued this certification? What are your thoughts. I just got an email that one of our plants got the certification, and another is in the works. The plant I work in is a G7 Master printer. The...

If you are in a complete mac environment, and screen sharing is turned on each computer, you should be able to go to the shared section on your sidebar, select the computer you want to view, and press "share screen". It will launch the screen sharing app and ask for the credentials you set up on...
