    Offset Paper and Digital Machines

Again, this isn't a concern for non-printed offset sheets. My situation is running PRE-PRINTED offset sheets through our xerox 700.

    Offset Paper and Digital Machines

Awesome, thank you for the link!!! I'll forward it to the President and see what he says...I'm sure the answer will be something along the lines of "well, due to the economy..." =/

Thank you. That works if the sheet hasn't already been ran through the press. The problem I have to deal with is imprinting 170K sheets of PRE-PRINTED offset material. We do run the sheets back through the press to help eliminate spray powder but that only takes care of ~90% of the powder.

    Offset Paper and Digital Machines

Thank you for the correction. I have never ran an offset press nor cut down paper. edit: I just confirmed with the pressman that it is more so paper dust and NOT powder that is around the edges of offset stock. My apologies for the confusion/miscommunication.

    Offset Paper and Digital Machines

Sorry, I meant shells. We are running a black and white imprint job. And from what I've seen, paper for offset presses come with a slight amount of powder on them to begin with. You can feel/see the powder from a freshly opened box of paper. We've tried this as well with the result still...

    Xerox 700 Error Fault Codes

When you place a service call with Xerox they will ask you what the fault code is and let you know what you can do from there. At least that's how it is with our 700...

    Offset Paper and Digital Machines

I have been in digital my entire printing career (since 2005) and have seen first hand what offset stock does to a machine and have pressed the issue like no other. I have even gone to the extent of showing the president of the company exactly what is going on inside the machine when press...

    Offset Paper and Digital Machines

This is good to reduce the paper shred/frey on the outsides of the paper but does not eliminate the press powder that is shipped on offset stock.

    Offset Paper and Digital Machines

I would like to know what your take is on using offset paper in a digital machine. I already know it's not supposed to be used that way and can damage the longevity/integrity of the machine. I was even asked what my opinion is and told them "you wouldn't put diesel fuel in your car just because...

    Xerox 700 Error Fault Codes

You can try asking your tech for a copy, but I doubt they would be willing to hand it over. One reason being that they don't want the Printer/anybody other than a tech to go in and clear/fix fault codes (for warranty purposes I would assume).

    Who handles your color managment?

Wow! I haven't checked this thread in a little while now and am happy to read the amount of responses posted. Thank you to all that have contributed. Keep em coming!

    Who handles your color managment?

Correct. So...who handles your color management?

    C900 Vs. Xerox 700 vs. HP1050

It's funny because our service tech has told me the machine will perform fine duplexing 300gsm, the only area it will lack is in ink coverage. He seems like a very competent tech (after dealing with many others at previous shops) so I'll take his word for it.

    Who handles your color managment?

Thank you for the quick reponse, I'm looking forward to others as well. Question, is this dedicated color expert on site (40/hrs week)? If so, what does he/she do to "stay busy" once everything is calibrated?
