Cant export as eps, says unknown error. I know it has to do with the way people are creating the files we place. But when we get over 100 supplied files a day I don't know how to determine whether or not the file will potentially become and issue without spending too much time.

if I stop the background exporting then don't I have to wait till its compete to do anything else in Indesign? Thats not going to fly seeing that the designers spend all day in Indesign....

So I was able to dig up a CS5 Indesign and the most recent problem file was still a problem. When I say flatten I am dragging the pdf file into Photoshop and saving, then relinking the file in Indesign.

Why do I not have an adobe pdf printer? I have some pdf creator that I downloaded from the internet, and the error I get is "The Adobe print engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown error"

So I tried doing a file print and printing postscript which Im assuming is what you mean when you say distiller and it does not give me an option to save as a pdf, just indd. Also where is the ID preflight?

I use several different settings, depending on what I need the PDF for, it doesn't matter what I use the result is always the same until I find the page that is causing the "issue". What would be nice is if Indesign could give an error with some sort of clue on what is the problem.

Ever since changing from CS5 to CS6 my Indesign keeps freezing when making JLT's. I can't be the only person having issues, HP has no suggestions. Did anyone else run into this?

We have both 10 and 11

I've tried just drawing one with Create New Rectangle but its not very user friendly and hard to see when the file is already to size. Could I create an action without giving a specific page size? We deal with too many sizes for that to work. thanks!
