EFI Vutek Fiery RIP - Spot colours WITHOUT colour management

Seems feasible, I'll give it a go, thanks for your help.

EFI Vutek Fiery RIP - Spot colours WITHOUT colour management

Basically this is how I got to this stage; I need to match to PANTONE 109 C, I have an object in my source file with the spot colour PANTONE 109 C, but when printed with colour management ON and using the spot table it ends up with a small amount of cyan dots. I then chose to manually match to...

EFI Vutek Fiery RIP - Spot colours WITHOUT colour management

No I haven't, so would I leave colour management ON? and turn the clean colour setting on?

EFI Vutek Fiery RIP - Spot colours WITHOUT colour management

Hello, I have a problem where I have spot colours in a table (e.g. My Yellow) with cmyk values of 0/5/100/0, but am trying to print this colour without the rip adding in dots of cyan/black. So my first thing to do was to turn off colour management - this caused the colour to completely bypass...

    Substrate Ink Limit (Digital Solvent)

I use Onyx RIP which you can also set ink limits for different combinations (single col + black, combinations (r,g,b +k), neutrals etc), I usually set the singles to around 250%, and combinations & neutrals to around 350%. I do have other questions about how much/where ink is limited but for...

    Substrate Ink Limit (Digital Solvent)

OK not sure if this should be in this forum or the digital print one, I'm sure I'll find out if it's the wrong one!!! I'm in a long-running 'dispute'/discussion with my managers about ink limits on self-adhesive vinyl when printed on our grand-format solvent machines. Basically we've been in...

So would I need to open the text file into the 'ProfileMaker' module as Reference Data AND Measurement Data?

    ProfileMaker help

Hi, I have a question along the same lines but this time I want to BOOST the black! Basically I'm doing a few tests and want to use the colour-balancing features of ICC (shadows, tints etc) but without the decrease in richness that the profiles bring (e.g. the dark grey instead of rich black)...

Digital Print Standards - Who has them?

My idea would be to choose densities that would be achievable on all of our machines, and then 'possibly' create custom ICC profiles for them to iron out any linearisation issues etc.

Digital Print Standards - Who has them?

I'm currently looking into digital print standards across our 2 sites as we are trying to standardise everything. My understanding is that the European industry standard of FOGRA39/39L, is basically the same as ISO Coated v2, which in turn is the same as ISO12647-2, this is what I intend to use...

CMYK prints the same on every printer!!!

I have the option to 'Use Embedded profiles' which i keep turned on. So if my input profile is FOGRA39 (but my file is SWOP) it'll print using SWOP? If I turn off 'Use Embedded profiles' it'll print using FOGRA39?

CMYK prints the same on every printer!!!

hmmm, that's given me alot to think about now! I've been to several colour management courses and had many engineers in to train us on profiling etc (all of which had very different views on how to do it) I've based my experience on an amalgamation of all of these. I was under the...

Old skool printer - ICC profiles

Right, I've been using digital printers for a few years and historically only used ICCs at the RIP stage, but am now looking at incorporating ICC into our entire workflow (photoshop, illustrator etc) Just a couple of things I'm still wondering about; - If I have a CMYK PDF saved from...

CMYK prints the same on every printer!!!

When you say 'if your profiles are done correctly' how 'incorrect' can they actually ever be with ICCs? I know what I'm doing (I think!) when it comes to setting the ink restrictions/limits etc but if for some reason I'd set the restriction for lets say Cyan a little too high wouldn't the ICC...
