    What is Unsupported Color Space?

Work around - using the touch up object tool select the image. Then right click and select 'properties'. Under the color tab you can convert the color space, many options there and I've found most ARE supported by Photoshop. Then you can open the image in Photoshop without problems.

    G7 & the Kodak NexPress

Ditto - would love some feedback to this question as well. We're running a Kodak NexPress M700 and are going to G7 in the very near future.

InSite Page Flipper (Preview) and Creep

Excellent input. Definitely a void that needs filling - bindery virtual proofing has to be an option, especially considering the current economic state where everyone is looking for ways to reduce costs. Sounds like we're not there yet, though - Kodak please help us!

InSite Page Flipper (Preview) and Creep

I was just informed by Kodak that creep, as defined in Preps, is not supported by InSite preview. We were really counting on preview to serve in lieu of a hard proof blueline for a 40 page saddle-stitched project. Now I'm not sure what to do, this job in particular has critical margins and the...

    Nextpress 2100/2500

We own an M700, kid brother to the 2500. Maintenance is a HUGE issue - downtime due to maintenance is high and quality is dependent on keeping the machine up to speed. However the upside is it's still a profitable machine and worth the hassle. Digital printing has opened up a whole new way to...

    Invisible Text in PDF

Re: Invisible Text in PDF Anything related to trapping - overprint on the text? Overprint preview set to on in one app vs. another?

    Prinergy Naming?

Re: Prinergy Naming? AFP (Appletalk) has a 31 character limitation, SMB does not. If needing to use AFP there are some software solutions out there that will compensate for this issue, such as ExtremeZ-IP, but it's expensive. Although Macs still support AFP it's a slower, less dependable...

    Canon Imagepress 7000 & Kodak M700

Re: Canon Imagepress 7000 & Kodak M700 We're a recent M700 install, going on two months. From what I understand it's a Canon product with Kodak clothing. Cons - it still has transparency issues, it's new to Kodak and their people are unfamiliar with it (service techs onsite are fresh from...

    Working from home?

Re: Working from home? Timbuktu was problematic trying to get it to communicate over various operating systems (an OSX machine to an OS9, for example). Not unsolvable I don't think but we gave up. Currently have a satellite plant connecting remotely via Citrix to a PC here with Prinergy...

    resistance to new technologies/workflows

Re: resistance to new technologies/workflows I'd agree it's fear of job loss. What operators need to realize is the entire industry, the way of doing things is changing. It's either change with it or be left behind. Instead of taking a disk, loading files up on a different workstation it...

JPEGs OK as Final Art in InDesign CS3?

Re: JPEGs OK as Final Art in InDesign CS3? I don't think that's a dumb question, I've wondered that myself, coming from the olden days when jpg was not supported by layout applications. I would think that processing the file, already encoded with jpg compression, wouldn't be any different from...

Creo Geometry tool for Acrobat 8

Re: Creo Geometry tool for Acrobat 8 Yep - but it's not available as a separate download on eCentral. Mount the 'WkspInstall' volume from your Prinergy server, then select the correct Workshop installer (based on your operating system). I'd recommend updating all features (Workshop, VPS...

    Magnus 400 platesetter question

Re: Magnus 400 platesetter question Hi there - you might benefit from checking out the GUA forums here: http://www.mygua.org/forums/index.php It's solely for users of Kodak products, there is a wealth of information there and if you can't find what you are looking for, post your question and...

    Prinergy upgrade Tips

Re: Prinergy upgrade Tips There is a wealth of information here: http://www.mygua.org/forums/ We're holding off on that upgrade for a few months as it is still in limited release. If you have a contract with Kodak I'd recommend opening a call with RC and have them do it remotely. If not, the...

Integrating Prinergy InSite within your operation

Re: Integrating Prinergy InSite within your operation We jumped on the Prepare bandwagon as soon as Creo released it, going to multiple customer locations for installs. The software is VERY dependent on a clean running OS, which ended up frustrating customers because it would work initially but...
