    Sonora Xtra plate question

Doing some more digging on our part, we have found out that the palette of plates' expiration date is July 2026. And talking with our plate guy, he said that he can see, is a side effect of that. It is not too bad at the moment, and the print is still sellable. We have another palette of plates...

    Sonora Xtra plate question

Our Magnus does not have a pressure roller for the drum. We also contacted our vendor, and they did say it was graining of the plates, which is normal. But he will look into the lot number and see if manufacturing was within spec.

    Sonora Xtra plate question

We just started to notice some striations in the image of our Sonora XTRA plates that show up on the print. You have to look under a loop to see them, but we don't remember seeing them before. And I'll admit, it is a bit hard to see under the loop, but the printed piece does show the...

Blue envelopes on Inkjet Envelope printer

Find the darkest blue on the belt, and position the sensor there. You may need to move your envelopes to that position too. And then, hopefully, the contrast is enough so that the sensor will pick up the difference and notice the envelope.

    New from Pantone

The color is probably matching, it is just your camera not reading the values correctly. As we all know, Pantone is right on, all the time.

Proofing - online vs color vs B&W

We have a P5000 (small) and a P9570 (large), both with an inline spectro. And the color stays pretty consistent. The P5000 gets most of the work and also most of the repairs. I believe we have replaced one in the past 3 times under warranty. The current one has only been replaced once. Really...

Proofing - online vs color vs B&W

We use a variety of proofing methods for our customers. As a commercial printer, we serve a wide range of clients—business, education, government, and personal—with very different skill levels and expectations. There’s no magic bullet when it comes to proofing. It often feels less like a precise...

Thoughts on Bulk Mailings and Software Recommendations

Is there a product here in the USA that can handle special characters and foreign language characters better than BCC and Accuzip? I know both BCC and Accuzip have problems, where they will change or delete the character altogether, and then you will have to manually fix your list after it has...

    iJetColor Pro Help

Since you are looking at firmware, maybe HP has updated the controller in the head unit. I know the first printhead we received with our iJetPro was an older head, with the older controller. They eventually sent in us a new head to fix a problem (different than yours) that we were dealing with...

    iJetColor Pro Help

I haven't run into that error before. Have you tried a complete shutdown, powering off, and unplugging the press? If that doesn't work, one of the sensors used to measure the ink may be dirty. I would shutdown the printer and then take out each ink cartridge 1 by 1, and see if there is a sensor...

Renaming a large number of files sequentially

I've been using a Mac since OS 6. I never thought we could do that. That is great!! But I have been using Name Mangler for quite a few years for renaming on the Mac. But the new cool thing I like about the newer OS, is the ability to 'Convert Image' and 'Remove Background' quick actions.

Overtime: "DPI" and the misuse of graphic arts terminology

Thank you very much, gordo. As a techy person who has been in printing in one shape or another since the 90s, this has been great. Being a techy person, I love the details, and I understand the frustration with the misnomers. I have been confronted on these points with management, sales, and...
