iJetColor Pro Help

Hi, I have an iJetColor Pro. When I try to print, I get an error message stating "IR Tank Level is too low. Cannot start Print". Anyone have any insight into this? I've used lots of memjets but pretty new to the ijetcolor pro.

I haven't run into that error before. Have you tried a complete shutdown, powering off, and unplugging the press? If that doesn't work, one of the sensors used to measure the ink may be dirty. I would shutdown the printer and then take out each ink cartridge 1 by 1, and see if there is a sensor in the back, if so, try and clean it with a link free cloth or cotton swab.

Hi Scotts, thank you. yes I have tried all of that. It looks like one of the boards on one of the reservoir tanks is malfunctioning. I replaced one last week that was completly dead, It is now back to showing levels but the yellow is reading lower than it actually is. What is now confusing me is why does it care if its "too low"? they are all showing that there is some in each tank.

Since you are looking at firmware, maybe HP has updated the controller in the head unit. I know the first printhead we received with our iJetPro was an older head, with the older controller. They eventually sent in us a new head to fix a problem (different than yours) that we were dealing with.

If you have support with the manufacturer, they should be able to "dial" in and run some diags on the head to find out what controller is in there. And they would also be able to check out the firmware.
