Re: Cutback not working!! "MudBlack" is a our Rich Black, made of 40 cyan, 30 magenta, 30 yellow and 100 black. I typo'd earlier, its a MudBlack fill, not file. This is a pure LW piece. Edited by: GinSu on Nov 15, 2007 3:44 PM

    Cutback not working!!

Re: Cutback not working!! RasterTrap Module settings are correct, this is a pure LW piece. I've sent files to EAWS for them to look at. It's really strange, it's failing to create cutback trap on vertical exterior edges. The inside of a "D" will trap as well as the outer curve, the the outer...

Intel Mac and Indesign CS3 and PageFlow

Re: Intel Mac and Indesign CS3 and PageFlow I don't have Neo. I use PitStop for editing PDFs. We are old school about output, making our corrections to native files and printing separations to the RIP. The Raster Trap module seems to do a good job and rarely requires any intrevention. Nexus...

    Cutback not working!!

I have a InDesign 5 document with tables. The top row of cells have a MudBlack file (40/30/30/100) with type reversing out. When I output this to my Nexuas (8.5rev2), it fails to create the correct cutback in the RasterTrap module. Even more frustrating, the Nexus Trapper in InSight also fails...

Intel Mac and Indesign CS3 and PageFlow

Re: Intel Mac and Indesign CS3 and PageFlow When we upgraded from PageFlow to Nexus, we looked also at Rampage. If I was starting from scratch, Rampage has some appeal, but upgrading to Nexus proved to be an easier, quicker and more flexible solution. An advantage to sticking with AWS (or...

INDESIGN CS3 PRINTING INCORRECT PAGE ORDER

Re: INDESIGN CS3 PRINTING INCORRECT PAGE ORDER Bob, I tried replicating the problem with my system but I got what I ask for, sort of. The page numbers in front of the page module is wrong, but the content is right. I'm using a Mactel box running 10.4.10 from InDesign 5.01 to my Nexus 8.5rev2...

Intel Mac and Indesign CS3 and PageFlow

Re: Intel Mac and Indesign CS3 and PageFlow I don't blame you for not wanting to downgrade the OS. I've never done it and would do everything but cause myself bodily harm to avoid doing it. And I imagine a RIP upgrade will gain you a lot more than an OS downgrade. Good Luck!

    Nexus 8.5 R3

Re: Nexus 8.5 R3 Thank's Joe! The error is very 'random' here, we can go a week or two without any errors, and then have three jobs error in the same day. (Rebooting Nexus didn't help in these cases) I'll hold out on upgrading for a while longer, case I'm cautious (lazy) like that.

Intel Mac and Indesign CS3 and PageFlow

Re: Intel Mac and Indesign CS3 and PageFlow Have you tried printing In-RIP Separations from CS3? We have one Mactel box that has upgraded to 10.4.10 and that's how we have to print in order to get it right. We running to Nexus 8.5r2, so I don't know if this will help for printing to PageFlow...

    Nexus Stababilty

Re: Nexus Stababilty Our Nexus systems run with out reboots for months at a time. I don't know about Disaster Recovery, but the fact that we don't reboot daily like you do may indicate that your system has a problem.

AI CS3 browser window tips open folders

Re: AI CS3 browser window tips open folders I'm glad it worked. Same here with OS9, TechTool was a life saver!! As for troubleshooting via Terminal, I don't know of anything specific. I found the info I posted buried deep (page 25 or something like that) in Apple's Forums. Since OS X Disk...

AI CS3 browser window tips open folders

Re: AI CS3 browser window tips open folders We've had this happen before with all Adobe apps after I upgraded the OS. I found a thread in Apple's Forum for how to use Terminal to fix the problem. 1) Disconnect ALL network volumes, and as a precaution disconnect the network cable. 2) Launch...

    Nexus vs Prinergy

Re: Nexus vs Prinergy We've been using Nexus/PageFlow for ten years now. I like that I can print from the native application and use PPDs to set the parameters (neg/pos, eup, edown, linescreen and lots of others). I think Prinergy is a NORM workflow making everything a PDF first, but I'm not...

    Scripting InDesign on a PC

Re: Scripting InDesign on a PC I don't know of any, but my experience is limited. I was tempted to try my latest scripts in JavaScript (cross platform!!??), but since I've never used JavaScript before, I really didn't want to learn it for the 4 or 5 scripts that I use. If there is a complier...

    OK..gotta buy a scanner

Re: OK..gotta buy a scanner Our Epson 10000 XL is running like a champ, we even got the transparency lid. No problems, but bear in mind that you need to use the provided "film holders" when scanning transparencies so that the Epson scans them sharp, something about the focus is set for the...

Laser check on Fuji Final Proof 5600

Re: Laser check on Fuji Final Proof 5600 None that I'm aware of. Luckily the device and materials have been consistent enough that we haven't had to recalibrate in the five years we've had it. The local tech does a great job 'calibrating' when we have to replace diodes.

Nexus 8.5rev2 Trapper Failure "Unknown Error"

Re: Nexus 8.5rev2 Trapper Failure "Unknown Error" bluvoodoo7: Since it is the already been banded to CT/LW, I don't think transparency or app trap issues come into play. I had a project yesterday of two almost identical pieces, the difference between them being some copy reversing out of a blue...
