    Xerox Versant 80- Purchase?

An online meeting is standard protocol with the OEM channel nowadays - I recommend you take up the offer, there's no obligation and you have nothing to lose. For comparative purposes, also explore Ricoh's offerings. Oh, and as you're relatively new to the forum, just a tip - beware of people...

    Xerox Versant 80- Purchase?

According to specs, the C4070 / C4080 engine is rated to 360GSM. Whilst the PF-707m supports 400GSM in the bottom tray, this is when used with the higher specced engines C7090 and above.

    Xerox Versant 80- Purchase?

No doubt someone your side of the pond will be along to answer this for you. In the UK, we have the choice of dealing with the OEM's sales force or an accredited/approved dealer. This accreditation is important, since they have to jump through hoops regarding training & machine...

Can Xerox c70 add metallic/white/clear toners.

Why not just answer the OP's question, like the subsequent poster has done? The forum's primary purpose is a knowledge base.

    Xerox Versant 80- Purchase?

What have you been quoted for colour and black & white clicks on a modern MFP? If you share some numbers on here, we can guide you as to whether it is reasonable. When negotiating click charges, volume is key, as from the dealer/OEM's stance they're not going to want responsibility and call outs...

    Xerox Versant 80- Purchase?

It's OK for what we do since the last firmware update, however we came through the ranks of MFPs before buying the two KM production machines (the other is a Pro951) hence we had no Fiery experience. For anyone coming from a Fiery background, I would definitely not recommend an OEM RIP instead.

    Xerox Versant 80- Purchase?

We've been pleased with it overall... Registration maintains well during a long job, after doing front & back settings adjustment Colour consistency is good throughout a job, e.g. when comparing sheet #1 with sheet #2000, however occasionally you get very slight inconsistency across an SRA3...

    Xerox Versant 80- Purchase?

110LB is 300GSM in English money, which indeed may be pushing it a bit. However before getting the C4080, we used to use 250GSM regularly on our C454 and C554. Obviously you can't auto duplex and are limited to the bypass tray for a straight paper path, although with a little manual assistance...

    Xerox Versant 80- Purchase?

@rwyeth If you keep looking at end of life machines, irrespective of manufacturer, you'll be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. As a home-based start-up, you'd be better off with a modern MFP device, on a click contract. That way, when there's a problem, you pick up the phone and...

    Realtor Buying Printer

Isn't this about concentrating on your core business? At those small quantities, everything considered, it would cost you far more to produce the same amount of mailers in house than it would to buy them from a local print business with whom you've built a good relationship. Perhaps you need...

Riso Comcolor GD 7330 aftermarket ink..worth it or not?

But, as @gregbatch asks above - what size page? For comparison purposes, one click on a digital press is typically anything up to SRA3 or 12x18 in US money. So, if your $0.02 is for that size sheet where you're printing 2-up, then the Riso is cheaper. However if $0.02 is for an A4 or comparable...

    Xerox V280 - New 36 Month Lease

The only real certification is seeing your jobs on your substrates run on a machine before you commit to it. As I've said many times, certification is driven by the Big Four's marketing departments, i.e. "Hello Mr Paper Manufacturer, if you'd like to appear on our list of recommended...

So they want to keep you. Turning this on its head, if you were obligated to buy inks from them, there was no need for the price movement. I'd still be wary about compatibles in any complex modern machine.

    Xerox V280 - New 36 Month Lease

Apples and oranges. One is a five year leasing cost, one is a long term investment for the business. One is a revenue cost on the P&L, the other is capex. Generally we find by year three (on all assets, not just P&M) the depreciation charge is less than what an ongoing lease payment would...

    Xerox V280 - New 36 Month Lease

How much without all the finishing gear I've highlighted? Just with a basic bulk output tray/stacker. Cost out a separate investment into offline finishing equipment, bearing in mind this sort of stuff outlives a print engine 3 or more times over. And it's not tied to one machine, so you can...

Riso Comcolor GD 7330 aftermarket ink..worth it or not?

Adjusted their rates for what? When you say they "adjusted their rates", do you mean they made the price of their own inks more favourable, or increase the monthly contract charge?
