Splitting large pdf's, document overhead etc

It's not about evermap, the same issue applies if splitting via acrobat pro. The issue is that the document has hundreds of different documents combined together by someone with loads of different fonts used, and then when you need to split it, it is then trying to embed all of the fonts used...

Splitting large pdf's, document overhead etc

I used evermap, which is absolutely awesome btw. Maybe there are other settings to avoid needing to outline fonts? This particular task probably gets done once or twice a year

Splitting large pdf's, document overhead etc

Update - I just used preflight to convert fonts to outlines and then split it again. It split the entire file in about 10 seconds versus over 40 minutes.

Splitting large pdf's, document overhead etc

I have a task where I need to split some large pdf's into separate files. Think 500 page document split into 300 files. I am splitting them based on bookmarks, but this is taking absolutely ages to process in acrobat pro on a beast of a PC, and I suspect it is due to document overhead and the...

Then get an extra fuser so that you always have one extra as a spare, like you would with toner?

    Ricoh 9210 Halftone Printing Issues

Do you have under the image tab: "Halftone simulation"

    Anyone print A5 Tabs here?

According to EFI our Ricoh C5310 does not support A5 tab printing. Ricoh demoed us A5 tab printing on the C5210, C5310, C7200, C9210 and we do it regularly now on our C5310 and it works well. Were printing from Totalflow Prep into Command Workstation. I would like to also use A5 tabs in Fiery...

Replacing a belt on a GBC EP28 Pro Punch

Thank you. I suspected as much..

Replacing a belt on a GBC EP28 Pro Punch

The drive belt on our GBC EP28 Pro comb punch has gone and Acco/GBC are saying the machine is discontinued and no parts are available. It's just a rubber belt and looks like a fairly generic component, I'd be surprised if it's a proprietary component specific only to that machine. Many of you...

Fiery Keeps Disconnecting - Do I really need a fiery?

I have a c5310 which is the newer version of the machine but it has built into it a Ricoh controller as well as the external fiery which I specced. I am able to use both the Ricoh controller and the fiery controller alongside each other without needing to change anything in between using them...

    Inflatable paper cushion packaging

We tend to use big rolls of bubble wrap for filling voids in boxes and wrapping more delicate stuff for shipping. I have been thinking about getting a small low volume air cushion inflater machine to use instead of bubble wrap but then I also saw there are now paper air cushions available as...

Disappearing ink (of a non-espionage nature)

Yeah it's a handful of pages each month. Got a basic Inkjet now and it works fine.

Thanks. For now I've ordered a basic A4 inkjet machine to try it out

    Ricoh c5310 - SR5120 booklet finishers - A4 lengthways fold?

So I have a Ricoh c5310, with the SR5120 booklet finisher. I do not have a folding unit. The booklet finisher will of course do some folding. However, I would really like to get it to fold unbound simplex A4 sheets lengthways. That does not appear to be a supported size/dimension for the...

    JBI EasyPunch or Docupunch Plus

In my experience the biggest issue with the inline punches is that the printer techs don't know that much about them.

Disappearing ink (of a non-espionage nature)

You're really over thinking this. Signatories (usually multiple) sign document in hard copy in advance of issuance of the document in future upon their instruction and consent. They can't date it in advance because the issuance date is difficult to predict and they are typically travelling a...

Disappearing ink (of a non-espionage nature)

I use the term notarial very loosely. There's no legal issue in this instance

I imagine a straighter paper path would entail a much taller unit to accommodate the actual punch elements

Disappearing ink (of a non-espionage nature)

Thanks - they're original signed documents which we have to then print headers onto for, essentially notarial reasons. So it has to be the originals. Interesting about the cooling part. May test that out as the copy is ruined anyway

Disappearing ink (of a non-espionage nature)

I've encountered a situation where a hand signed document needs an overprint but feeding it through a laser printer is erasing the signature. I believe this is because the signature was made using erasable/washable ink and the heat from the fusing process is just evaporating it. Only solution...
