printing & cutting booklets for the first time

We get those little nicks too, do you mean a little tear at the bottom where its cut? I generally just position the books so it happens on the rear of the book where possible. Happens more with larger paged books. Sometimes one side of the guillotine may work better than the other. If you...

printing & cutting booklets for the first time

Do top and bottom cuts first and have approx 8-10 books split and facing each other. so 4/5 with spine on left and balance with spine on the right. This levels out the clamp pressure on the pile and stops them turning. Then last cut just as normal. As per video -

    VERSANT 2100 - STREAKING ISSUES

If its only in magenta I don't think it can be the transfer belt. If Windows are clean and drum swap doesn't work I'd say its crap stuck in the developer housing.

Good or bad idea in my situation? (Only selling posters with mounts/mattes)

I would bet that has nothing to do with the border and more about how you phrase your option on the website. "Yes please, I may frame this"

Good or bad idea in my situation? (Only selling posters with mounts/mattes)

I just see a 3mm border as being trouble from the start no matter how good your equipment is. I'd also see shipping frames as a nightmare. If it was me I'd just work on adjusting the artworks so you can print borderless and reap the long term benefits.

Good or bad idea in my situation? (Only selling posters with mounts/mattes)

Sorry am I missing something or are you overlooking the fact that the mounts cost money? Are you not just about comparing cost of a mount versus how much your wasting currently per print?

    Upgrading Versant 180

Yes and your previous thread on the subject clearly showed you had a terrible understanding of how to use it and how it worked. Nothing to do with the machine.

    Gloss Paper is GONE...

In Ireland I mainly deal with three suppliers and like that it's a complete gamble as to who has what and at what price. I order certain stocks from certain suppliers, generally based on price. Trade houses are generally ok as here they tend to buy direct from the mills so are probably getting...

I can see them fine. No idea how they're made though.

Do you pass your discounts on to the client?

In that case, yes the builder was probably entitled to it if its from the retailer. If they weren't and it was the client's rebate then I doubt the supplier would have been able to avail of it anyway. Just explain it to the FIL that way.

Do you pass your discounts on to the client?

Who is the rebate from? Is it from the suppliers or some local government home improvement grant/rebate? Wondering if things are getting confused with supplier trade discounts.

Do you pass your discounts on to the client?

We're only hearing one side of story. Contractor may have quoted based on knowing he was getting rebate. Without rebate they may have quoted the difference.

Xerox Claiming End Of Life for my Xerox C75 in 1 year.

Is your C75 your primary machine? Do you have a backup machine in case it breaks down? What sort of print shop do you run? Just a printer is an amazing guy but is a pretty unique company setup and not a typical print shop and such self maintanence just happens to work for him. If you've been...

    Xerox Drums issues Resolved???

Got a set of drums a month ago and just went to fit one, outside of blank generic box is dated 22/2/2008. Where have they had these for 15years? Surely this Versant model of drum hadn't been created that long ago? I did get another set last week which were branded xerox and dated April 2022.

    Pouch laminated menus lifting

From the op description I don't think the paper to laminate adhesion is the problem, I think it's the lip around the corners seperating. So the actual laminate to laminate.

KM 3080 misregistration front to back skew image

But the print will still be skewed on the page, bit of a nightmare for accurate trimming. An alternative I've used in the past (can't remember why) is to lay the pdf with trim marks out in indesign on the full sheet size and skew it in the file to counter the machine. Bit of trial and error...

KM 3080 misregistration front to back skew image

On the Xerox Versant you can manually adjust the alignment when it's gone too far out for the onboard settings to compensate. By pulling out the main paper path assembly and there is a screw you can loosen and swing the alignment section. Obviously this will throw all other saved alignments...
