    Versant 280 Ghosting?

Maybe the op is remote, in all our years of Xerox I've never had them attempt phone support. And like others i've called them out for what ended up being the stupidest oversight on my part and they've always been understanding. BUT the ops problem here is well worth calling them out, already...

    Versant 280 Ghosting?

Versants are built in fusers, not removable units like the DCs before. But you raise a good point, why didn't the tech come out? Especially if new user still getting used to machine.

    Versant 280 Ghosting?

I print large solid areas on coated of all weights every week on our v80. Now i have got ghosting once or twice in my 6yrs of ownership but it was always fixed with either image transfer adj or fuser. So rare I can't remember for sure how it was fixed.

    Versant 280 Ghosting?

Sorry just to clarify, have you created a custom paper profile and adjusted the Image Transfer Voltage in that to 80%? I use the numbers rather than %, not that that should matter, but I've never experienced a colour change from doing so. Given your cymk breakup of grey I suppose this could be...

    Versant Tray 6 & 7 Alignment

I believe that's just how the machine works. I don't, but if I was running the same stock from all trays I'd have independent alignment settings saved for each tray. So NCR Tray 1, NCR Tray 2, NCR Tray 3, etc. I would say 80% of my production work is through tray 6 so I'd rarely even use 1,2,3...

    Detecting Black and White Pages

That's weird, I have about 20-30 options in that pages section. I wonder did I install some add on over the years?

    Versant 280 Registration

Do you know if the 350gsm is long grain or short grain? At that weight it might just be the difference. We have a V80 and although it's not supposed to I regularly duplex 350gsm SG (Prodesign, Mondi, DCP) and it would be pretty bang on.

    Detecting Black and White Pages

Open the pdf in acrobat - - Print Production - Preflight - Magnifying Glass (top centre) - Pages - Page uses other colorants than Black Run this and it will give you a page count for colour and black. Also, under printing and online publishing, the Digital printing (color) will convert most...

Ricoh vs Cannon vs Xerox Quality...

I know you mean well but in a crowd of printer operators that sales spiel means absolutely nothing. We have all received the exact same with every machine we've bought what've you've listed is probably in the brochure of all models in question. OP and others are looking for real world use and...

Duplo 646 is always off on lead margin

Are your prints in the correct position relative to the template? Just that you mention between 6-9mm which seems odd to vary if it's a machine setting you think is incorrect.

Versant 280 Ink Setoff Prevention Mode (skip pitch)

We keep a replacement 2nd BTR on site and the service guys showed us how to replace it so we can do it ourselves. Very simple on the V80, literally 60 seconds. I just order them as I need when ordering consumables so I could have a couple if needed. That's a real pity to hear it's worse on the...

Versant 280 Ink Setoff Prevention Mode (skip pitch)

I've never used it on our V80. In all my years with Xerox I've never experienced bricking, maybe that's the Irish climate being less than tropical. I just did a test there and although job took slightly longer to begin printing the output was the same. I wonder does it only kick in after a...

    Need equipment advise

Wow, can't believe the 7210 was nearly double the 280. These would have been our next considerations when upgrading our V80. Can't see how they could justify that, both seem very similar specs, maybe I'm missing something. For all the Versant's flaws and recent issues it's still a great all...

    Scanning on Versant 280

We use Scan to PC on the V80, on the left there is "Address Book" in this you can set a network location where the file will be saved. It'll remember it and you just need to select it each time your scanning. Handy if multiple people use the scanner and want to save direct to their own computers.

Toner yield in Xerox Versant 280?

That's unique for a contract. Where are you located? Depending on coverage I do find our v80 can eat toner. Not sure how it can be calculated.

Toner yield in Xerox Versant 280?

I assume you're not getting a service contract. If that's the case I would not recommend Xerox. Their part reliability is weak, especially in recent years.
