Is it just me? Am I unlucky?

Ps sorry to hear about your issue with the 3100. Are you able to get it up and running quickly? I kind of don’t mind having teething issues with a new to me press as long as it’s under service contract. I also feel like it’s made worse because the V80 is our only press so when that’s down for...

Is it just me? Am I unlucky?

In fairness, we are nowhere near those figures in terms of volume, probably closer to 10k per month. We don’t generally print low profit/high volume like flyers (unless it’s for ourselves). We tend to do sticker sheets mainly but throw in booklets (usually 120gsm uncoated) and A3 posters (on...

Is it just me? Am I unlucky?

Thanks for this, I really value your comments. I have to say, other than the quality issues, I love the Versant 80. Registering stocks is far easier than the KM (I didn’t have the IQ module as that was nearly as much as the press cost), and as you say the Versant prints envelopes with the same...

Is it just me? Am I unlucky?

So, our Xerox service provider has come back saying that the darker line on the printed sheet is called 'impulse banding' and is typically caused by us printing mostly 350gsm coated stock. They've said that slowing the fuser down should solve the problem but if that doesn't work, there's nothing...

Is it just me? Am I unlucky?

Definitely will do when I’m at the office tomorrow. Our drums are a black casing with a shiny green roller.

The green was actually fixed by the engineer replacing the cyan drum, and cyan developer and housing in the end but two weeks later, the cyan drum began putting a line down everything with cyan in it so had to swap that again yesterday. The engineer also ordered up a spare drum for the yellow...

Is it just me? Am I unlucky?

We’ve never had an issue with registration on our Versant 80 to be fair. It’s just solid colours are awful and constant banding within a day or two of the engineer fixing one lot of banding. The below photos are meant to be solid magenta and solid cyan. The green is also supposed to be a solid...

Is it just me? Am I unlucky?

I’d love to know how you get on with your 3100. I was convinced I was going to upgrade to the 3100 as we do a lot of 350gsn card stock but I don’t have space for a near 5 meter wide machine haha.

Is it just me? Am I unlucky?

Thanks for your input, it is nice to hear the other side. Can I ask what your experience is of printing solid colours? Have you ever experienced another brand of machine to compare your experience with?

Is it just me? Am I unlucky?

Interesting to see the issues are similar in the 2100/3100. Doesn’t give me any confidence that a v180/280 will be any better which is really disappointing. Might have a look at the Ricoh C5300s…I think the C7200s would be too large for our space currently.

Is it just me? Am I unlucky?

What sort of issues do you have? The 3100 was one of the machines I was considering but I think it’s too big a machine for me really.

Is it just me? Am I unlucky?

I've posted before about the fact I used to have a Konica C3070 and decided to sell that about a year ago and kept my Versant 80, and how much I regretted that decision. However, I am constantly having issues with the Versant 80 and it's driving me insane. Countless issues with lines/streaks in...

    xerox v280 -- tshirt transfers?

I feel like when your agent/client asks if you do T-shirts, they’ll want something better than a tshirt transfer. In my opinion, T-shirts printer with transfers are NOT commercial grade products and should not be sold to customers. Your client will likely be wanting/expecting either dtg...

    Konica Minolta AccurioPress C4080 / C4070 / C4065

I haven’t got the 4080. Has the 3070 but currently running a Versant 80 (old, I know). Between the 3070 and the Versant 80, I much preferred the Konica. The main two advantages of the Xerox are SIQA and the cost of the add on modules. For example, when we got a quote for a Xerox Versant 280...

    Alternative to Konica c3080

Sometimes I am glad I'm in the UK... When our Konica came to the end of its lease (granted we didn't have the plockmatic booklet finisher) Konica let us keep the press without any extra charge. I couldn't justify paying 30k to keep a machine that's end of lease.

OKI 9431 alternatives more suited for our business

If you find a 180 with a dealer that will put it on a service contract, makes no odds whether it's end of life in 2026 really. We have a Versant 80 that is going to be EOL'd at the end of this year, but our service contract runs until end of next year with the option of renewing it. We'll likely...

OKI 9431 alternatives more suited for our business

That Kyocera looks like an interesting option. It's a shame it can't be coupled with a fiery like the Oki's can, but still a worthwhile consideration. My only worry about the OP not going on a service contract is that a 20,000 page toner cartridge can easily become a 5,000 page toner cartridge...

OKI 9431 alternatives more suited for our business

My opinion differs somewhat to @jwheeler. Personally, I think 10 cents per print is too much, plus the way the dealer is pricing it means that if you have a month where you don’t print (say you go on a long vacation), you still pay that fixed cost. We are in the UK so prices likely differ but...

Do you use a print shop management software?

Unfortunately, it won't run on my M2 Macbook Air as it says the OS isn't supported. I disagree regarding no proper support. Each time I've emailed Devalipi, I get a reply the same day.

OKI 9431 alternatives more suited for our business

Personally, I don't like the way the Oki printers print colour. If you print a solid yellow for example, it prints a sort of hatched pattern rather than a solid yellow. For me, this puts it at a severe disadvantage regardless of the cost of toner/drums, etc. The issue you're going to have is...
