Acrobat Dot Gain 30 Conversion is Changing 100K black to 84K

It is because of the color management profile you are using. Try different profiles.

Ugh! I'm still using Rampage. Make it stop!

Just to chime in here on automation with Prinergy....your biggest obstacles with be with your customers. Input files have to be named in an exact manner and you need info up front before you get the files such as number of pages because if you need to automate impositions you need to know how...

    Preflight puzzle

The area in pink is the transparent region which is the shadow area. You can view where transparency is in a PDF with the Acrobat Flattener Preview tool.

    Preflight puzzle

No there is no 'overprint' of the shadow. It is 2018. The shadow is a transparency effect that allows the shadow to print over the background color. When I said it overprints the spot color, it does. But not because of an overprint setting but because of transparency.

    Preflight puzzle

Weird. I have the same version and the black shadow overprints whether I have output preview open or not.

do you have the same issue-Sales does not understand PDF workflow.

Since the owner understands...have him to deduct 25% of the sales persons commission and give it to you for every job where natives are supplied. The problem will go away in record time.

    When to Shingle?

We don't usually apply creep for jobs less than 64 pages unless it is running on a heavy stock. Anything over 64 pages will almost always get creep applied. The amount depends on the paper it is running on and how close text content is to the trim. And we always use creep scale to keep spread...

Overprint/knockout problem with PitStop or Original File?

Well it won't fix the issue but it should show you the true representation of the file. The missing text was probably originally black set to overprint. Then changed to white and overprint wasn't changed. You can change the file via Pitstop or Acrobat Preflight and any modern workflow should...

The overprint setting you need to be concerned with is in the Acrobat Preferences.

    Affinity Publisher Beta is Released!

You can change to the light gray theme in the preferences. Yes the bleed problem is the biggest flaw so far. Also cropping images isn't the most intuitive way either. Nor is page scaling via the keyboard.

    Affinity Publisher Beta is Released!

Well back to the original topic. Affinity Publisher...not a bad start for an early beta but needs a lot of work.

    Affinity Publisher Beta is Released!

 I believe you but it still takes me to the "AVANGATE" page. What is weird is if I select the text "https://tinyurl.com/ybp2yr54" and copy it and paste it into the browser address bar it takes me to the right place but if I click the link it takes me to the other one. And it does it on...

    PDF Workflow Question

The last two are not ever a good option. Neither displays transparency well. The best option is Acrobat with OP turned on.

    PDF Workflow Question

So you gave them a hard copy proof that was correct but what you printed didn't match the proof? I'm afraid that is on you if that is the case. If it was a soft proof and the customer had OP off than it is on them. If they are capable of applying transparency in their file they should know to...

    Imposition numbering software

Different presses and press/folder configurations can have different numbering schemes. Probably the most common, at least in my experience, is 1,4,5,8,9,12,13,16...etc on the front and 2,3,6,7,10,11,14,15...etc on the back but there are many more possibilities. It isn't hard to do something in...
