    Trouble Getting Heavier Digital Stock

We've been able to get Pt Platinum Coated Papers (I think that's the brand. The box is kind of generic looking) in 130# Digital Silk Cover, 18x12. Made in Spain. It has a nicer finish than both the Blazer and Titan.

Reverse curl issues within the shop.

Are the sheets running through a secondary fixing unit that is possibly causing the curl? So then maybe it's an issue with the way the profile of the paper is registered? Just a guess..

G7 Revealed: Interviewing a Color Expert

Canon has been improving their color approaches over time. We were using Colorlynx with our digital presses and now we run G7. G7 is the best process we've used thus far over a pretty broad range of colors...but will it drift over time?

    Refurbished Digital Press Recommendations?

We run Canon digital presses (IPC8000VP) and they handle a pretty decent range of media types. We don't do a ton of stickers but we're happy with the quality of what we run.

Uncoated 20# Bond Wavy after digital printing

We have that same issue from time to time and the techs seem to think it's a humidity issue (we are also in a dry climate), not just in terms of how the digital press is handling the paper but in how the paper is affected by the lack of humidity as it sits in the distribution center at over...

    Double fold on a booklet

Is it for mailing? After folding and tabbing (assuming you have to do that) would it be more cost effective to mail it flat? (again, assuming it's for mailing)

Possible new proofing wide format printer

We run a Canon image PROGRAF PRO-4000. We're generally pretty happy with it.

    Variable Data stalls on Fiery

Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into those. Right now we can't output PPML, we'd have to move up to a newer version of our software, which we will likely do. I'll also look into PSL Page Builder. Thx for the info.

    Variable Data stalls on Fiery

Yeah, we got the specs for the RAM from Canon. There is disagreement form Canon about whether adding more RAM will help but we're going that route for now. We'll see.

    Variable Data stalls on Fiery

If it's not RAM then why does a restart of the Fiery help the issue? (even though it's only temporary)

    Variable Data stalls on Fiery

We're considering an upgrade to Print Shop Mail since converting to ppml doesn't see to be supported in PSM6.1 although another user here has a similar issue and they are running 7.2.4 We might consider a Fiery re-install although there is disagreement among our staff as to whether that will...

    Variable Data stalls on Fiery

Thanks for the info. Our trays do not disappear (although I could see the ImagePress doing something like that, lol). Our techs have been chasing this problem for us as well to no avail. Adding more RAM seems like their best fix but of course, there's no guarantee that will fix it. I think our...

    Variable Data stalls on Fiery

We send as optimized postscript. ppml won't work for us for some reason. Sending as ppml creates a .zip file (apparently) but then we can't locate the .zip file to import it into Fiery Command. It's confusing. We may have to move up to PSM 7 or PSM Connect and see if that helps. (Although, I...

    Variable Data stalls on Fiery

That will likely be our next step. Thank you. The confusion for us was that it dropped the ability to handle more records almost overnight, instead of gradually. From 30,000+ down to less than 5,000 all of a sudden.

    CANON C700

We've had a few ImagePress machines and my biggest issue is how they handle grey values. For toner machines we've only run Canon ImagePress so I don't have anything else to compare them to - but for pages with a lot of coverage in certain grey values we don't get the consistent color that we...

    Variable Data stalls on Fiery

We are running a Canon ImagePress C8000VP with Fiery Command 6. We run quite a few variable data jobs with Print Shop Mail 6.1 We've never had a problem sending over variable data to print even with as many as 20,000 addresses - but for some reason, fairly recently, we have problems printing...
