You are right but in many applications it is still useful. Thermal lamination is not necessary if you use right inks and right substrate with correct surface tension.

You can try with offset inks for non absorbent substrates without the need of UV dryer, I know its a very slow process, you need to wait for at least 4 hours to run the next color but it works. Many printers in Pakistan are doing the same and producing good results.

I always ran KCMY but on some jobs it can be changed according to coverage of a particular ink. On 2 Color presses I've used C+M and K+Y , C+Y and K+M.

With lower pH, Free rolling of the plates will be better. Ink water absorption will be less. Oxidative drying will be slower. It will be more corrosive for the press parts. It will attack paper coating more. With High pH, Free rolling of the plates will be worse. Ink water absorption will be...

There are too many variables in offset printing and expecting subsequent runs to match the previous run exactly is not going to work. You can get close results but not same. As others mentioned, ask your printer to provide a press proof before production run. Make sure they are running standard...

If ink is water logged or chemistry issues, this will happen. Search this forum for Picture Framing and you will get your answer. Inking roller temperature should be between 25-28 degrees Celsius. Hope this helps.

One more thing to add, if you have an infrared thermometer, you can measure the water temperature in the water pan on DS and OS and see if there is any difference.

I'm not familiar with the XL75 dampening system but Skew setting is for Pan roller and it is used for controlling the water at plate sides. You can refer to the operating manual for better understanding.
