Any Indigo 5600/7800 users out there?

Thanks, it sounds pretty much like the Di we run now, a lot of the issues are fixed by the operator (me) either alone or with telephone assistance. I think at the end of the day, the only decision we make is based on cost, quality is there, colour is there, range of substrates is way beyond what...

Any Indigo 5600/7800 users out there?

HI, not go the machine yet, we are at the testing and consultation stage. Yes we would get the one-shot kit, we have ideas for plastics. I doubt maintenance could be more stringent than our Di, which can seriously bite if you treat it badly;) service has already been discussed and they [HP]...

Any Indigo 5600/7800 users out there?

Have had some samples of our work done on a 5600 and were really impressed, we currently run waterless offset but our runs are getting shorter and we also want more diverse substrates which we can't do on the Di. The samples were really impressive, 100% colour match to our proof and done on our...

    Di52 Whats at play here???

We have, so far they drawn a blank. We have managed to print some jobs now, but on the uncoated stock we have to clamp down hard on the impression setting. It works fine on uncoated though which points to ink I think - too tacky or very poor trapping.

    Di52 Whats at play here???

Long story I'm afraid... We have had a Presstek Di52(waterless) for the last 8 years, started out with issues (hence my user name!) It came with Toyo inks as they were recommended for it, but the colours were useless and no good for euro/ISO colour printing, being a Japanese ink set. Soon...

Anyone running Toyo inks on a waterless press??

I fully agree, the trouble is that supply industry did not keep up and there really is little support for it in the way of inks etc. When it works, it is amazing, I know of no other press/process where I can come in to work in the morning and within 15 minutes I can be producing colour matched...

Anyone running Toyo inks on a waterless press??

Tried them, got a set here, didnt work too well. They could not even tell me the correct running temps which gave me no confidence either.

Anyone running Toyo inks on a waterless press??

yes, chiller working fine, pressures good, temps read ok.

Anyone running Toyo inks on a waterless press??

Thanks D. Don't forget we are in the UK though, we have a stock of ALL DI inks available here, some work for part of the day then tone, others do not work at all, some are so tacky they rip the sheet apart, there is VERY little choice over here. We have tried temps from lowest to max but makes...

Anyone running Toyo inks on a waterless press??

Thanks, have you got a location? I have tried Toyo Europe but so far have found them abrupt in their single response to my various requests, to the point of being rude in fact, a most unhelpful company. I merely asked three times for a UK supplier and after two weeks I got a single line reply...

Anyone running Toyo inks on a waterless press??

We have tried hard packing and a soft underblanket, no change. Changing to LZ would be a PITA and very wasteful as we run mixed stocks all the time and cannot run LZ on coated stocks. This would mean continuously having to change inks. All the other brands we have tried have worked well on...

Anyone running Toyo inks on a waterless press??

Yes, pressures are spot-on, both stripe and nip. These are process jobs so more ink is not an option.

Anyone running Toyo inks on a waterless press??

timings are fixed on this press, and this effect is from grip to tail evenly.

Anyone running Toyo inks on a waterless press??

Looking for help again, we have finally had to resort to using Toyo Aqualess MZ inks on our 52Di press as all other brands have now failed through one reason or another :( We have managed to get acceptable results on coated and satin coated stocks but it refuses to run on uncoated stock - we...

    Does offset ink go bad?

Thanks, I have a feeling its off. Here's the story... We were having issues with inks, the press supplier teamed up with Van-Son and between all of us, came up with a set of decent inks. They had a batch made with a view to rolling it out to lots of press users, this seems to have failed and...

    Does offset ink go bad?

As title really, is there a shelf-life for offset inks? In particular, waterless inks. Still in sealed tins of course.

Getting QMDI PRO - What do you think?

I did forget to mention the mess :) There will be spray powder in the air, no ,matter how clean the operator is, we have our Di in its own cubicle which is also air conditioned - they do not like large temperature swings as the process is heavily based on controlled temperatures. Parts are...

Getting QMDI PRO - What do you think?

Brand new, the price is horrendous, second hand not so bad. Sorry cant give figures because our is a few years old now.

Getting QMDI PRO - What do you think?

I run a Presstek 52Di, plate life is limited to around 20,000 sheets for good quality, your 45,000 job I would probably run on two sets of plates. They need careful maintenance to stay in top condition, neglect them at your peril. Put a litho operator on on it not a xerox person, its not a...

    Paper Trim & Confetti Waste

For the confetti, you could look into adding a cyclone unit to your extract line, these are very effective when set right.
