    Fuji Dop Plates

I asked a plate tech about your post. While each scenario may differ and this is not definitive, it is a good starting point. Understand that the tack of the ink is what removes the image from the plate. Optimal roller settings throughout the units are imperative to the plate’s development...

    Fuji Dop Plates

    1) Fuji Ecomaxx T plates, I assume. Process on press plates are extremely calcium sensitive, so keep that in mind. 2) My Fuji contacts suggest running Superia PressMax JRDC fount at 3oz. and Superia PressMax ARS-ML sub at 2.oz for best results on the SM52 3) DOP plates are very light and...

    Prochem California Wash?

Lukew, I stand corrected as I referred to the wrong wash as being the alleged culprit, my apologies. Thank you for pointing that out. My point though is that using a wash, any blanket and roller wash, may not be the most prudent choice to effectively clean ink train rollers. An old racing adage...

    Prochem California Wash?

robbg439, Varn California Wash is a superb product and I do not believe it is at fault, but it may not be the best choice for the ink train rollers. If you wish to effectively clean the ink train rollers, contact Great Western and ask them about Calcium Slayer & Flush.

I'm looking for non genuine Manroland parts suppliers.

Siebert, Inc Chicago IL [email protected] The premier manufacturer of pre-saturated blanket cleaning rolls will make the spray tubes for you, but they will need the old one sent to them to match up properly. Quality though and generally substantially lower cost...

    Methods to minimize paper waste?

Keith, Right on the nailhead. The hypocrisy of business (and society) is revealed every time the choice between cost and rectitude is posed. A good chuckle and a bit to ponder. The minutiae of the day was relieved. Thanks, Keith !

    Abrasive roller cleaning paste

Some roller cleaners contain microcrystalline silica , which is an alpha quartz found in the earths crust and is an abrasive. Clay like properties and appearance is how I would describe it, though I am not an expert on the subject matter, but have researched them extensively and distribute some...

Have you benefitted from the recent economic uptick!

Gordo, Yes. We are a small company based in Chicago area. While not extravagant, a bonus was issued. We have a higher "comfort zone" for the launching of our new product, as well. The vibe we get is there is a less gloomy outlook in the year ahead.

New industry trade show—a good idea?

Combined shows would be great. Being a supplier and from Chicago, I often wished Graph Expo/Print and Labelexpo Americas would join forces. Between budgetary restrictions and the shrinking footprint of the former it makes sense. PRINT17 was disappointing, turnout was dismal on Sunday and waned...

Kompac III on GTO 46 scumming and can't find a fix. (Pictures in post)

Hi cwatts, Any resolution to your scumming issue ? I thought of your inquiry at a recent press cleaning. I still think it is calcium glaze, not "ink shine". I mean that with no disrespect to the esteemed minds on this forum. Your experience and knowledge is immense and I will continue to learn...

Non abrasive fluid for cleaning impression drum

After you clean your impression cylinder, apply SILLI SLIP to it to prevent build-up. Works great and will serve multiple purposes in the pressroom, as well.

Kompac III on GTO 46 scumming and can't find a fix. (Pictures in post)

Hi cwatts, There is also a ton of calcium contamination. Rollers look extremely hard and glazed, look at the shine. Try Calcium Slayer and Flush. No better way to attack a calcium problem.
