Crestline issues are back - HELP!

"Pull Test" - "Prior to inking up"... are you referring to the old technique of pulling narrow strips of paper through the rollers? That is pretty rudimentary. Yes, a back-roll with the damp form down is required for some stripe inspections. I'm worried about your not seeing the springs. To...

Crestline issues are back - HELP!

There should be very little difficulty swapping new rollers into these units, but I intsalled new rolls about 8 weeks ago and still don't have them perfect in one unit...I'm pondering the waay old ink rollers as the culprit. Use yellow. It is much easier to see the stripe. Don't skimp on the...

Crestline issues are back - HELP!

What Crestline unit is this. Crestlines for this machine are (were) available as 4 roll, 5 roll (Altra Series) and 6 roll configurations. Press - 3302 M? When you are ready to start setting stripes again, use Yellow, heavier than you would ink up to run with.

    Couple of nagging Ryobi issues.

I shouldn't admit how many sheets I've printed with various grippers removed, both the infeed and impression cylinder, without noticeable issues. Eventually, multi pass cmyk on 12pt proved too problematic - verticle registration and nicking issues. I would not advise replacing the impression...

Printing large envelopes on Ryobi 3302M

I would lower the head stops. By design they drop to allow the sheet forward and rise up partially which is the cuase of the tail seam tear. Lower so that in the middle position, they are still below the feed plate.

    Security switch Ryobi 3302h

How much different is the 3302h from 3302m, because with 20 years experience on 3302m, I cannot make heads or tails of what you have described...? My guess is 3302h = continuous factory dampening; m = molleton dampening

Help! AB Dick 9850 Envelope printing

The thread is 30 days old, but... Common occurence on my 9810 - one day might be fine, but for the most part, it's a common occurence. I make plates for guys who run their envelopes flap first. I can't expect they deliver well, but they swear by it.

    AB Dick 9800 series/Ryobi 3200/Itek 975 question

With all due respect, the Itek 975 is not a glorified AB Dick press. It is single color machine/press/duplicator, built to the Ryobi standard, under the Itek branding. It's feeder is much different than AB Dick, and to memory, uses 5 ply blankets; much more forgiving for envelopes than AB...

    KM-c6501 Printing Faster?

I think you're accustomed to duplexing - print 2, wait, print 2, wait. Simplex runs continuous, page after page. Maybe it is a face up, face down setting; but I never deliver simplex face down so I'm not sure.

Opinion/Advice on turnaround time for binding booklets

Oh gee I hope that's all black clicks - off the press is gonna make for one messy collater, vs color digital is gonna cost a fortune. Commencment week = Stress? You got it. It's amazing how unprofessional school systems/employees operate.

Opinion/Advice on turnaround time for binding booklets

We're similair to Captain Kirk - 50/50 on imaging. I had no reservations obligating several jobs off our Horizon for the typical friday deadline; it's commencement week. If you can run digital with minimal curl the blowers on a Speed Vac will definately seperate the sheets. On those occasions...

    Gray Balance

You're familar with 34 Sorted Patches. One strip each of cmyk in one localized section of the image area. It is possible/probable that the imaging equipment is not in a consistant state across the width of the sheet, hence 34 Random patches randomizes the test patches. Upon scanning the patches...
