    which better 2-wc 7655 or 1-dc 6060

I would keep the 6060 and maybe upgrade the Doc 12 to a 240/250 with external rip. I know the quality output is different between the 6060 and 240/250 but what it lacks in gloss output it makes up for in speed. Do you do your own service or is it on a service plan? Where are you located?

Drum wear is a big factor on color consistency. I wonder if that is added the make you order drums more frequently...LOL

    Xerox DC7002 Color Issues

I know the HCSS will not accept 300gsm in the high cap tray but should take in the top output tray. The 8000AP is a good machine. I've refurbed one and serviced a few. It takes all weights of paper at the same print speed due to the AP at the end. The AP stands for extra NVM values for fuser...

    Black & white machine

What about a Xerox WC 4127/4112? I just recently had a customer install a 4127 and within 18 days had run 400,000 8.5X11 in. prints with only a minor problem with the pressure roll. That's it!

    Xerox DC7002 Color Issues

Ask your technician if he has done an NVM initialization on your machine. Sounds like software corruption . I have had a few 6060s and 8000s come back to life after doing a full NVM init.. They will have to do some re-adjustments afterwards but it may help. There is also a setup on the lasers to...

Fiery Ex RIP + 700 = Color Problems?!

I've worked on some 700 and Igens and from what I can gather , the least amount of profiles you setup the better. The time used to set up each profile and recalibrate everytime you use it is exhausting. I would try to use the default profiles as much as possible and manually adjust in the color...

    Xerox DC242 or DC250?

The only "upgrade" is the speed. This is an older machine with older software. Tell them you want your 242 that you paid for.

    Lease vs Purchase copier

The first thing you should always do is check out refurbished equipment prices. You can save a ton of money versus new. The only thing you have to do is make sure your getting a truly refurbed machine..ie HFSI's done, stripped down, cleaned and repainted is a truly refurbed machine.

Maybe a laser or halftone board issue.

    Xerox DC7002 Color Issues

Sounds like an issue with the black drum. The drums on the 700 and 242 family are VERY light sensitive. I have had the same issue by accidently not getting a drum covered properly and it ruined the drum. I had to replace the drum because it was left exposed for more than 2 minutes.

What sftware version of Creo rip are you using?

Plate shifting with xerox dc5000ap digital press

First thing I would check are the firmware updates for the Docucolor 5000ap. I think v2.0 is most current. Then check sftware level and patch updates on Creo. Is it only happening on Imposed jobs or does it happen randomly on any type of job?

Has anyone purchased a used IGEN?

Who did he use to get it set up??? 100k is an awful lot of money to get an Igen up and running. I've deinstalled and reinstalled one for 15k and it works fine.

    Xerox DC7002 Color Issues

I work on the 7000 and I'm curious to see a sample of what is going on as far as the quality on your 7002. If you could post some samples, I would like to see how they look.

Thinking of buying the Xerox 700

I personally(?) think that the 5000 is superior to the 700 in image quality. You could purchase a 5000 used/refurbished and later you could update the 5000 to 5000ap with a software update and productivity pack (upgrades to the fuser for all paper same speed)

    Xerox DC260 colour inconsistency

Is it a stand alone fiery RIP ? Save a profile in Prowise colorcal with the stock and if gloss, matte,..etc., paper or not. You definitely should use a stand alone densitometer.

    Xerox 700 anyone?

Make sure the toner supply is good from Xerox. I have heard a lot of problems with getting toner when customers need it due to backordering on Xerox's part. Also make sure the machine specs will fit your needs. There are some issues with gloss differentials on these machines from center of page...
