Woes: Laminating, creasing a black or dark colour patch printed paper

I have to bind a book ( 2 types, soft bind and hard bind) whose cover is coated art paper, black solid patch printed, matte laminated. However, when I bind it there becomes visible a white line at the spine crease. This looks ugly. Has anyone faced a similar situation? Any ideas how to solve this?

Hydraulic vs. pneumatic hot stamping press

Many years ago I saw a chinese machine that had both pneumatic and hydraulic pressure. Pneumatics will bring the impression down and hydraulic will further press it. They told me it helps in blind embossing and debossing. I have no further information on it. By the way, which brand are you buying?

Moving the first page image to match end paper and cover page of a book

Thanks Puch. However, I am not talking about creep ( moving image by little bit every page). I am talking about moving 1st page image so that it is not covered by side glue/side crease area of a book cover. The paper thickness has no role here.

Moving the first page image to match end paper and cover page of a book

Whats it like in your Country / Part of the World?

India- complete lockdown, compulsory. Staying at home. Factories shutdown. Hardly any support to businesses from government, except 3 month moratorium on bank EMI payment ( it will not be interest free. Interest will continue during 3 months).

How do you dry/cure printed sheets

To process /laminate printed sheets after printing, I think, it is better to dry the sheets ( ink evaporation) before lamination. How can you hasten drying and curing so that you can laminate the sheets quickly? Applying powder worsens lamination.

    Help with mbo problems

In my experience generally the MBO people are quite cooperative. And, have you considered degreasing rollers, with offset rollers degreasing paste. MBO, I think, sold or recommended one. How practical it is to buy is another question.

    Paper is not dead (yet)

May be it is a cycle. They dumped paper in favour of plastic packaging and now reverse (environment). Will it happen with digital? For serious and long reading I find paper to be more pleasant (with its shortcoming like search). However, I am not the world. Younger generation likes digital and...

Should I split pages in coreldraw / illustrator or some other software?

I have a file of a 12 page brochure in coreldraw from a client. The brochure closed size is A4. It has to be center pinned. However, the design is spread across A3. e.g. Cover page 2 and page 1 of inner pages will have half design each and inner page 2 and 3 will half design each. So, when you...
