    :Azura plates questions

:Azura has very little dust that flys off. In last 5 years I worked with original :Azura and :Azura TS. I worked on 3 CtP systems: Presstek Dimension Excel 425, Presstek Dimension 800 and Screen PTR-4100. All these machines had some :Azura and :TS dirt after some time but not as nearly as from...

Azura TS Plates Small Dots in the Non Image Area's

To test only: Try to manually wash unexposed plate. Second test it to wash an unimaged plate with a sponge and dish detergent and plenty of water. If the dots do not appear, it has something to do with washing. When did you last thorughly wash the plate washer? Is the washing gum near ending...

Halo on plate Imaged on Screen PTR4100

Bright halo on plate can happen only if you are doing negative working plates. If the area imaged is out of focus (like debris on drum that rises plate from ideal focus point or plate "punched" by a debris in transport path so some plate area is out of ideal focus point), laser can not deliver...

    Problems with Dolev4press

Try machines internal Expose test - you need just a few like GRID. If this tests are OK, then you have a problem with Brisque and communication. Oteherwise problem is in machine. Spinner has an encoder disc that gives the laser beam postion to the system. It is in the spinner itself. If...

    Problems with Dolev4press

Recalibration is explained in users manual. You need film densitometer for that. Find the right density and then correct ex-curve. Dirt: don't touch optics. Try to clean all contacts like cards in dolev and cable connectors. Long shot but who knows. If it is optics, it is cheaper to call...

    Problems with Dolev4press

Go to NVM, look for res tables. Next to resolution in DPCM is spinner speed in RPM. Lower the RPM number, press Save all (with appropriate function key). Then you have to recalibrate the machine strating laser intensity and then excurve. If this helps, you will work with lower production since...

Are you using Adobe Illustrator to print?

Well, either you will have dozens of printer drivers or you will have dozens of saved presets in Illustrator. Whichever way you go, your specific situation requires better output software, maybe a propper RIP. And if you want Adobe to pay attention to your request, post it on their forums or...

Are you using Adobe Illustrator to print?

If you have this same problem always, install multiple instances of same printer driver, set each one as you need and name it so you could recognize it from within any program. And print always with same settings.

Plate/Press issue - After washing up/gumming plates will sometimes leave a track mark

Agfa Azura plates are negative working plates. They are "developed" in gumming soultion. Actually it is not developing (there is no chemical reactio) - it is washing in gumming solution. There is no developer. Gumming is done in turn with washing - washing/gumming unit has only one wet spot...

any idea about universal tsp 75u

TSP 75U is actually TSP 75 made to be compatible with 3.3V PCI slot. Any system using 3.3V PCI slot is compatible. TSP 75 is only 5V PCI slot compatible. Another solution is Xitron USB box or similar device that connects over USB to device specific interface.

    Stocastic vrs. AM screening

I am in SE Europe but working for customers throughout Europe. I was talking about XM principle: (first order) FM algorithm of putting/removing dots of same size to do more or less ink coverage but only in highlight and shadows; AM angular grid as distribution rule and principle in midtones...

    Stocastic vrs. AM screening

I'm sorry that I made some mistakes (calling Spekta as cross-modulated). Using FM techniques in AM grid would be cross modulation: FM uses same dot size for all tones same as you stated for XM. FM puts/removes dots of same size to achieve ink coverage on the plate. Quote: "The only difference...

    Stocastic vrs. AM screening

Cross-modulated screening Cross-modulated screening There are families of cross-modulated screening: HXM, Specta, etc. They produce FM in low and high color value range, while producing classic AM screening in the mid-tones. Maybe this would be compromise soultion for you.

    Dolev 4press V

My recomendation is TSP board: it is more reliable then fiber link. TSP board uses special copper cable so you will have to purchase it with the board. If you plan to use it in a Mac or PC ask for "U" version (like "75U").
