    User's feedback on Ricoh c901 GA+

Without testing the file myself it's difficult to know why. Couple things come to mind though. In your Fiery Configure > PDL > PS, check to see if 'Cache PDF and PS objects' is checked. This will specify whether images in PDF and PS files are cached to reduce the need to reprocess the same...

    User's feedback on Ricoh c901 GA+

That totally depends on your requirements. Shops with a prepress workflow typically use a product like Preps which for digital is over-complicated and overpriced. It's not without it's flaws like anything else but I think the Fiery Seequence suite (impose/compose) is plenty useful enough for...

Square Spine instead of saddle stitch?

disclosure, I work for Ricoh. Don't know about the other brands but the Plockmatic booklet maker with square fold outputs a very nice product that looks like it's perfect bound. They take up alot less space because they lay flat. Customers seem to like it a lot.

    EFI RIP for Xerox 7556

That's because each mfr's Fiery rip is customized to a specific engine and may include more or less features than a similar rip offered by a competing company. Your best bet is to bite the bullet and contact a sales rep but insist that he/she be accompanied by a solutions engineer who knows the...

    QDirect

I'm bound not to disclose pricing but let's say when you factor in installation and yearly maintenance you could buy an Accord for the same thing. But don't take that as the final word as there are many variables. I'm not sure but it may be that they only sell throught partners (Ricoh, e.g.)...

    QDirect

Since no one has responded yet I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents'. I've supported it in several installs and it's a very capable system for controlling workflow, routing jobs and managing multiple print destinations. But it does a lot more than queue jobs as it has pretty powerful scripting...

    Why?(2)

to borrow from another conundrum, why is the color accuracy of a printed piece always inversely proportional to it's importance?

Oce Varioprint DP Series. Any Suggestions?

The scratching issue is something that I think has plagued Oce' ever since they introduced their "DirectPress" (CopyPress?) technology, in which they directly image the drum which is transferred via a belt to pre-heated paper where it is then fused. It's an interesting concept but apparently...

how to start up with a digit press?

<note - I work for Ricoh> The Ricoh C651/751 digital printer supports envelope feeding down to 3.94” x 5.5". Since this affects how the fuser wears we recommend that no more than 20 to 25% of your volume consist of envelope printing. The other caveat is that you need to run them flaps open...

Disclaimer-I work for Ricoh. If you want to use the Freeform functionality of the Fiery go to Fiery Command WorkStation5 Support for VDP tutorials. You'll still have to use the mailmerge functionality of your application but the Fiery will do the merging instead of your PC so the jobs will...
