Canon C850 vs Ricoh 7100 or 9100 series.

Hey jkl67; I would describe the skew I get on banner sheets on my 9100 like this. As you pick up the sheet from the finisher tray and hold a flashlight under the operator side front corner, the tick mark will be off by about 1/16 to the right (op side) then do the same thing with the back gear...

Canon C850 vs Ricoh 7100 or 9100 series.

I can only comment on the Ricoh 9100, and as previously mentioned the service in your particular area should be a big consideration. How many techs would be available to you and how big (geographically) is their area. I went from 10 years of running series 2 HP Indigos to the my current Ricoh...

pre printed offset sheets run well thru indigo?

Danny: I can't really speak to offset powder, our conventional web presses don't use it. My guess would be the offset powder would travel the path of blanket, to PIP, to cleaning station, to I.O. tank, to I.O. filters (I believe they are 2 micron) to ink tanks etc... Still probably not a deal...

pre printed offset sheets run well thru indigo?

Hey Danny; I spent 10 years on series 2 Indigos. You didn't mention which series you run so I can only speak about the 5500 and 5600. I ran shells (that's how they refer to a digital press printing on pre-printed sheets) once a month. Usually 10,000 to 15,000 sheets, sometimes up to 20,000...

Experience jumping from Xerox to Ricoh (or other)?

Hey msaeger; yep, I've got them synced. The first time I had to replace the 2 communication cables, and the second time all software was dumped and reloaded.

Experience jumping from Xerox to Ricoh (or other)?

In not quite a year of running my 9100, I would say the biggest issue has been SC codes about the inability of the press to communicate with the Fiery. Lost more than a few days trouble shooting this. By far the biggest issue I've had with this machine.

Experience jumping from Xerox to Ricoh (or other)?

Hey ksherrod: Spent 10 years with series 2 Indigos. I've been running my Ricoh ProC9100 for almost a year now. With Indigo it was nearly impossible to get a tech to make the 4 1/2 hour drive to my site, spare parts were unheard of. The phone support was pretty good, and with almost no tech...

Ricoh 9100: Slip Sheets and Speed

Yeah Manafaith; that's how it worked. Zero delay kicking out the canary sheet at the end of a set, then a slight delay (2-3 seconds) to switch back to the feed drawer for the pages. At that delay is when I would grab them off the finisher so it worked out good. But I know what you mean, if...

Ricoh 9100: Slip Sheets and Speed

Hey Msaeger; thanks for the suggestion. That's a new one to me. I made a note about this so next time I have to do this I'll give that a try.

Ricoh 9100: Slip Sheets and Speed

Thanks Greg; I've been meaning to post a follow-up. I duplicated my paper definition for 70# gloss text and named it #70 gloss text SS (slip sheet). I put my canary 20 slip sheet paper in tray 4 and loaded tray 1 and 2 with the 70# gloss text. I set it up as a pad job in "finshing" forcing...

Ricoh 9100: Slip Sheets and Speed

Thanks everyone for the responses, got some new things to think about and check out. Since I duplicated the paper definition I just assumed all of the advanced settings but now I want to see if fuser temp settings are the same. Let's forget about it for 2 days (if only it were that easy!) and...

Ricoh 9100: Slip Sheets and Speed

I'm running a Ricoh 9100 and have a perfect bound book job coming up that calls for a slip sheet between each set. I know if I use a paper different than what the pages are on it will adjust fuser temperature even though the slip sheet is blank. To try to get around this I made the slip sheet...

Getting double clicks with 13 x 26 sheet on V3100

That's the way it is on my Ricoh ProC9100 as well. I believe anything over 13x19 gets a double click charge, and definitely banner sheets.

    Ricoh ProC9100 Print Problem?

Thanks Shawn and msaeger, I had no idea the ITB was that long! And the way the repeat was I'm sure that had to be it. So basically I didn't do anything that should have fixed this but the problem seems to have gone away, which is my favorite way to fix pretty much any problem, ignore it and...

    Ricoh ProC9100 Print Problem?

Interesting, thanks for letting me know. Basically all I did was swap fusers, it was gone with the other fuser, then to see if it would come back, I put the fuser in again that was in there when I was having the problem, and I ran some heavy coverage duplex sheets and so far haven't seen the...

    Ricoh ProC9100 Print Problem?

Just ran into this print problem today. It always the same distance in from the non-operator side edge of the sheet, almost all I run are 12x18 sheets. It's about 9.5 to 10mm in. They seem to be pretty random as far as how often I see them. I ran 40 sheets of 1 job and found these on 5 of...

    Varnish Over Toner

Think I found a solution for this problem. I've been using Actega chemistry with my Morgana Digi-Coater, the gloss I was using was DUV-9021A. Worked fine with my Indigo inks but terrible with my ProC9100 toner. Got some new stuff from Actega, this one is DUV-9058DG and as you can see in the...

    Trim Program Organization

I'm using a Challenge Titan 230 trimmer. I've been storing the various programs on it in no particular order, just as I needed a program, I picked a number and put it there. As you can see from the attached it's quite a disorganized mess. I have a copy of this taped to the front of the...

    Chipping in Bindery

Hey Manafaith; been thinking this over and came up with 2 other ideas you could try. Since this is only happening on the back of the sheet ,(most likely because of the mega-coverage, not because it's the back) you could swap the face and back spreads and make the face the back and the back the...
