    2D Barcodes

I have a customer that is a very big Law Firm. They produce hundreds of sets of Business Cards per month. I need to talk to them about printing a 2d barcode on the cards that will allow someone with a smartphone to scan the barcode that in turn directs them to a website. Is there anything...

Newbie to Cutting Business Cards - HELP!

I'm not sure how I'm being ironic or hypocritical. Please explain. I just simply stated you are asking a group of people to help you so you can take work away from them. I used the graphic design analogy because it is your core business. I suspect you are offended when someone goes out, buys a...

    Advice for a newbie

I hate to say it and I certainly empathize with your situation but you won't find a printer within that budget. A real printer is going to start at 10x your budget. Mine is 40x that, and then some.

Newbie to Cutting Business Cards - HELP!

I have to say.......................... I'm a printer but how hard can it be to be a Graphic Designer. I have a Mac. We have tried to do some graphic design for our customers because how hard can it be if we have a computer machine to do the design? But it always looks awful because, let's face...

    Best Printing Video Ever

I don't think this sort of thing is allowed on here but until someone takes it down, here is a great video that all printers will recognize. It is not offensive in any way but it is hilarious! Enjoy!! YouTube - OffRegister's Channel

    Booklet Finishing

I appreciate this feedback, Onemanbindery. The problem with the bookletmaker types is a book with this number of pages tends to not lay flat when it closes as the spine "bulges" for lack of a better term. I have a long term contract with the client so I know the business is going to be there for...

    Booklet Finishing

I have a project I do once a month that is a 56 page or 64 page self cover booklet with a page size of approximately 6 x 9. The run length is 8500. I produce this offset as 16 page sigs. I send the flat sheets to a bindery house and they fold, stitch and trim. This is a process that I wish to...

    Digital Decision

Both are good machines. Xerox is a terrible company to partner with. It very quickly becomes about them and not about you. Read some of the xerox threads and you will quickly agree.

Winning a fight wit xerox - advice needed

There seem to be an awful lot of these XEROX horror stories. That was the deciding fact for me going KM instead of Xerox. I have always felt them to be a VERY GREASY lot. I feel for you brother and I wish I had good advice other than F**K Xerox. I realize this doesn't help matters one little...

    Need Man Roland Parts

It's not an electrical problem. I have had motors rewound many times. This is a mechanical issue that is difficult to get to and repair. It's a very unique motor in that it is conical. There must be a salvage yard for presses just like there is a salvage yard for cars.

    Need Man Roland Parts

I have an old beater Roland 200 series that needs a new electric motor that drives the feed pile lift. I'm being quoted over $3000 from Man Roland. Anyone know where else I can look?

Does anyone have any experience doing Rink Boards?

I don't think that mounting this to sintra is a very good idea. That will change the "texture" of the boards and could influence the liveliness and the way the puck bounces. One large, low-medium tack decal is what most rinks use. I'm looking to see if anyone knows specific substrates

Does anyone have any experience doing Rink Boards?

I'm sponsoring a local hockey team and need to do signage for the boards. I run a Mimaki 52" eco solvent and I'm wondering about a substrate and whether I need a special bulletproof over-laminate. Any experience you have had would be most helpful

Printing membership cards? (Alternatives for Xerox DocuCard etc.)

I don't know where you are but I have had these done at Compuforms in Toronto. I don't like dealing with them much but they seem to be the only source for what I need. I have looked EVERWHERE
