    Prinergy vs Trueflow

Go to vikisolutions.com and you will see where all the Prinergy development team went. All the brains that developed Prinergy are gone. All the code is being done in China by people that have no idea what innovation is. All I see in the future is bug fixes at best.

From Nexus to RAMpage - has anyone done it?

Rampage has always been in the black. They have no debt to deal with and all they do is a workflow. You call for tech support and you get it while you wait on the phone for less then a minute. I have used Rampage for over 12 years and wouldn't use anything else and I've used a lot of different...

    Prinergy vs Trueflow

Kodak now at $.67 a share. People on this forum complaining about back ordered consumables and difficulty getting timely support. Trying not to be accused of promoting "FUD", just stating the obvious.

    Prinergy vs Trueflow

Hopefully Kodak will be around to support Prinergy in the future. Stock is now at $1.14 a share. Just sayin.

    Rampage Upgrade costs

Confirming what Mike said and verified by Rampage. Rampage does not charge for point releases if you have yearly support and are in the USA.

    Rampage Upgrade costs

Highway robbery? Have you ever looked at a Prinergy upgrade? Rampage is probably the best deal you will find anywhere. $1750 for yearly support and it does not matter how many Rampage boxes you have and all the point updates are included in the support price. You would be lucky if Kodak would...

PDF not honoring Black overprinting. ID CS4

Any reason you are going to ps? Why not create the pdf natively out of InDesign. Have you checked the prefs under "Appearance Of Black" to make sure Black overprinting is checked.

    Screening Type

HPS screening, using ElipticalP dot structure. Looks great printed. Very smooth vignettes and flesh tones. Its a $1000 option from Rampage.

    This Just In.....

8.1.6.2 only supports native transparency it creates. Your SOL if you need native transparency to be honored from an ai file. Now that they have added the ability to place native illustrator files. All hail Quark!! Blazing a trail to the 19th century of printing.

    PDF cropmarks

If you are using PDF Trap Engine check to see what Rampage is looking at for where it places the crop marks. Trim box, crop box, media box. Its on one of the tabs, either the rip or trap tab. I don't recall which as I am at home at present. If you want the crops to show up on the trim, set the...

    Preps 5 and nesting

As a Rampage user I have found that the easiest way to do nesting if you do not use Pandora is to impose native PDFs in Preps. There is math involved in calculating the spacing but Preps allows you to overlap pages and since the background of PDfs are transparent it works quite well. The only...

    Opinions on Van Son Ink

We have used the Vs3 series since it came out as well as the Vs5, Vs7 and VsZero. When we got ready to do our G7 certification we brought in Toyo, Kohl & Madden and VanSon as well as their techs to do a side by side comparison and VanSon won hands down. Don't be swayed by anyone on this forum as...

    .zip files corrupt fonts?

If you use a newer version of stuffit it has the ability to preserve the resource forks in zip archives. Just set your preferences to "Preserve Macintosh Content" for zip files

    RSI data from client

Have him do an export from his Rampage, send you the files and do an import from the page manager on a rip. Its pretty simple. Just make sure they know what version of Rampage your running. If he is sending single pages just regenerate the fpo's and impose as normal.
