Ran through the process again. Found the xml file created in the zip file and used that in the default color bar description. Finally works! The documentation is rather vague as far as i'm concerned. Hopefully newer version are better. Thanks for the reply

No that's part of the problem, I can't add any color bars to the proofer in the KPS client. Any users of KPS 5 out there? Is the process any easier in the newer versions because its pretty convoluted in 3.1

Our pc running KPS had a HD fail. I have installed a new HD reloaded windows and installed the Matchprint inkjet software. I can see both our proofers from the client and print fine. The problem is the certified process on the Hi Res proofs. I keep getting a size error on the Brisque (yes i know...

You can wrap paper around them as a temporary fix if things start to really stick. I did that for the unloading rollers on our Lotem until we could get them replaced.

Quark should have gotten Freehand, a image editor and bundled to compete with Adobe. I see a dim future for them now.

I have hopes of a job coming in with the file we get being exactly as the customer actually wants it to print. Been 23 years and still waiting...

Just take the last version you have and add a number... that's all adobe does. ;)

You'd probably be better off having a printer with an inexpensive digital press produce your books and save yourself the headaches of production. If you don't have bleed you can have finished saddle stitched books coming off the press.

We had KM6500 (Creo front end) and small, non standard sheet sizes sometimes caused a similar problem.

Proofing for Litho jobs? No I don't think it would work for color, but good for content.

On every press i've seen, folding takes place after all the post insert trays (and printing) so I don't know where you would find such a printer
