    Problems with ecomaxx-t dig plates

Hi Prepper... Glad to hear that you are making progress on the productivity front. Just curious, you mentioned that you are using a "rinse, gum" unit. Are you indeed using water and gum, or just the gum? Perhaps you are aware, our Azura TS is designed to clean-out off-press in a simple gum...

    Job Security

How about some classic typos that you've made, which have gone to print... For me, when I had a type house, in a job for a nuclear disarmament group, instead of the "threat of nuclear war", the "treat of nuclear war" went to print. Ugh...

    wrong reading plate...

Actually, I've seen offset on white plastic, printed same image both sides, the reversed flopped, for for back-lit displays; the colors are richer. We see this too with wide-format.

Golfprint: Thank you for your comments; you've brought up some good points. Users often comment on Azura as their initial entry into CTP, or as they turn from a processless (on-press clean-out) to a chem-free solution. As you point out, even compared to a "traditional" wet or developer- based...

GolfPrint: Sorry to hear you had delays in implementing your chosen solution. Without naming brands, can you explain how you and your pressroom are happy with the Azura TS solution, in comparison with your previous plate process and experience? Thank you in advance.

To reiterate Kevin's point - Kodak takes great strides to cooperatively qualify 3rd-party plates on the wide variety of Kodak CTP gear - legacy or new. Each qualified engine/plate combination has defined settings. To further Beamer's point, Azura TS is even qualified on the 1st generation...

    Future of UV-CTP

sarwar: I had mentioned this in a previous post. Agfa and Luscher have announced cooperative certification of Agfa's new line of UV-sensitive plates, optimized for applications such as Lucher's CtCp systems. Here's a link to our negative version - :Aluva N. AGFA.com - :Aluva N Regards,

Processless, Chem-free, low chem plates – who cares?

Gordo: Processless vs. Chem-free; it appears not to be an issue of "who cares?", but rather, "does it matter?" Recent threads such as "Problems with XXX processless plate" reinforce the inherent differences between Processless and Chem-Free. Based on these and similar threads, I would suggest...

    Screening for printing smooth skintones

Anton: First of all, is the grainy objection from a naked eye, or from a loupe? Regardless, if the customer is complaining, then I'd agree with Gordon. However, at 240 you might start to run the risk of losing highlight detail, with the process not necessarily being able to hold a 1 pixel dot...

    Presstek Anthem vs Aurora

Patrick: With UV, unless you are using a post-baked thermal plate, all bets are off until you've done some plate testing within your specific environment. I'm not certain of your engine - but I suspect it might be a PRST-made Dimension? I don't believe we've cross-certified Agfa plates and...

Delta Tracking with Presstek Aurora Plates

Mark: TechnaPrint was running LAP-V before, and has since switched to Thermal. I'm sure the Agfa agent close to him would be happy to provide a set of Azura TS chem-free sample plates which would run on his/her new system. It's like in that movie... All ya got to do is whistle. <snip>...

    Presstek Anthem vs Aurora

Patrick: UV environments vary site by site. The best bet to hold up to aggressive UV chemistry, would be to use a post-baked thermal plate, or a post-baked photopolymer plate. Non-baked thermal plates have varying degress of success. Our un-baked Energy Elite plate has been designed to be...

Help sought with ink savings applications

Just a quick observation. We've found that the benefits surrounding the use of a GCR tool go beyond the "Ink Savings" aspects. Some users find new life/ "quality" in an older press, due to the apparent "better" image quality using GCR. Since the 3-color greys are substituted with black ink...
